Does anyone know, or have a theory, why Tesla has cars on its new inventory which are more expensive than the price when ordering a new, similar spec car? It's not an isolated example, there are numerous examples in the Model 3 new inventory which are more expensive. I simply can't see why.

Ah, I didn't realise this. I assumed that the trade-in value that was quoted at the time you placed the order was "locked in". But your saying then that the trade-in value can drop after you've placed the order? Is that correct?

I'm interested in the new Performance but Tesla's trade-in valuation for my 2020 M3P is £23k, WBAC is £20,745 and Motorway is up to £24,988. So at best a gap of around £35k. I'm torn now between waiting to see if the price drops, but then the valuation of my car will almost certainly drop too...

For the second night, IO failed to initiate charging. I've noticed also (it may not be related) that the phone app is either extremely slow to connect to the car or simply fails. The car is parked within a few feet of my router when charging. I only have a Pod Point charger so have no choice...

As @Pink Duck says, check if you have some missing data. I've had this happen several times now and it seems to break the automatic billing. An email to Octopus results in it being sorted out

The advantage, for me at least, as I don't do any smart home automation, is that Axle Energy manage the pre-event charging, if there's not enough left in the battery to export. Of course, it remains to be seen if it all works as seamlessly as the blurb suggests....

I thought the idea of Intelligent Octopus Go was that Octopus "rewarded" you with a longer period of cheaper rate in return for allowing them to control your charging to help with grid balancing? Sounds like some want their cake and eat it.

Yes, I know the 6-hour window is cheap rate for all use, what I'm querying is how they charge for any slots allocated outside that window - for all use or only for EV charging? There seems to be some ambiguity.

Yep, can see the Devices tab. When I checked back just now the charging schedule had appeared..... but only some of it! The notification I had earlier said 0000 - 0230 and 0230 -- 0530 but only the first slot shows on the Devices page. Flipping heck, this is hard work!

I've been thinking about the issue of using excess solar to charge the car but at the moment my Octopus Go tariff let's me charge for four hours overnight at 9p/kWh whereas I can get 12p/kWh for exported power, through Scottish Power. So, unless I'm mistaken I'm better off financially to export...
