you get a 3-5 day window... don't know what happens if you don't pick a date after that. Reach out to service center and let them know your timing. They try and work with you as much as they can

See this is what I don't understand.... and I highly doubt this was a canceled order at the last minute.

That therein lies the rub...tell you one thing one week and something else the next

Mine did the same thing as yours on EDD and I ordered 4/23... I really don't think OD has much bearing... ask ones in the Northwest 😬

I think order date (especially a day or two) has not bearing on VIN assignment or delivery timing

That's an awful tight window for no VIN. Mine have always been 4- 5 week windows

In Tulsa Service Center, Level 2 charges are out side however they are not for public use (charge demos I presume)...They do have a Supercharge but it is located inside the repair area and only accessible to the service technicians.

Correct, as I pointed out in a post way back, Service Advisors at Service Centers have no more information on your car then you do. They do have information on if there are any 3P with VIN and headed to their SC. Once you get a VIN on your car, then they can give you updates on the status and...

The difference is 3 performance are not the only tesla being shipped to a region o/ SC... They bunch 3/y/S/etc...

Does anyone know how many production lines Tesla has for the 3? I remember back in 18' they opened up a second line in a tent for the 3.

Not that It matters and I do not not put any faith in it but as jjrandorin has pointed out numerous times...EDD will fluctuate wildly and are never accurate . However for those that had their EDD pushed months out. Mine did to too (July-Aug) but now went to this. I full expect this to change again.

When I had my 18' 3 computer upgraded they manually had to plug into the computer to add the firmware

@ Newdoc I would think the SA would know pretty closely where it is at and the anticipated arrival time. Each of mine we have always gotten pretty accurate info (when VIN assigned) on where its at in transit on the train (on the way to Chicago and will arrive on such date), then approximate date...

Well I will also say I've never seen a delivered Tesla where the plastic was kept on the seat. No Automaker will do that that I'm aware of (liability stand point) . But maybe the person re-wrapped them for some strange reason

Our 18' Model 3 and 20' Model Y were all transported by train to Chicago from Fremont, then from there they were truck transported to Kansas City for pickup. If memory serves me, another hub for the trains were in Atlanta for SE delivery.

I wonder... Tesla is definitely different then legacy automakers. I remember ordering a car back many years ago (Ford Pickup) and the VIN would be assigned before its produced since it does have some specific attributes i picked . Tesla however makes cars in batches and not specific for an order.

They could be... most are not on this forum or Redit to tell anyone.

Really the only thing a Service Advisor can offer above what we know is they can tell if there are Model 3 Performance getting VIN assigned and coming to their Service center. Then maybe they can draw a rough guess on when they think yours might get a VIN

And just to add to what some knowledgeable posters and moderator have said.. EDD are really meaningless... VIN is the key. Local Service Center SA have no insight on when "you car" will go into production or when it looks you will get a VIN. Trust me I've seen their screen. They get notified...

I'll head over this week and ask about mine. Ordered on 4/23 Red/Black with RN 121534 . I'll specifically ask if there "screen" shows a projected build date.

That's how it is in some states here in the US. I'm in Oklahoma and since there are auto dealer protection laws I have to make full payment before in can cross the state line. I've paid in cash the last Tesla a few months ago and really its no big deal.

I wouldn't do that... reports are Tesla gets pissed when people abuse that app :p

I don't think so, mines happened on early morning Sundays too... and to remine everyone please don't worry about the EDD fluctuating... people have gotten VIN's a month before the start of EDD

Not sure, on our 24' Y its excellent. Our 20' Y was/is ok

They will start with black interiors after Tesla works out the production bugs and panel gaps with these first runs ;)

Looks like we are doing the same thing. I'm trading in my 20' Y performance white/white for a 24' 3 Performance. Except I went with Red/Black

yes and dont worry.. No Tesla since 2022 has USS only Tesla Vision. Our 24' Y just got the free FSD trial and the only thing lacking is summons

I would think it should delayed from NHTSA ... whats EPA looking at on EV? Zero smog

Austin is only Y and Cyber truck production. There where a few 3 there a few months back but most suspect they were stagging for delivery. Not produced there. All drone flight have not shown any 3 coming out of the end of line.

My range moved from yours to june5-june 30 with black interior. I'm sure it will move again tho
