I asked Tesla (via messaging in app) about transferring my homelink module (purchase for my 2021 LR) to the new M3P and they said “homelink is only able to be used once and can not be transferred”. Is this accurate from others experience? I thought I read others transferring in the past.

🙏Tesla send me a VIN. I can't wait until August. Every single video review says the same thing - incredible car at a steal of a price. The only negatives I've seen are ridiculous - it doesn't make enough noise or it corners too well with no slippage so it's less fun. WTF?

Agree. Summer tires with temps consistently below 40 deg F is not a great idea. And if it rains even worse. Stopping distance will be significantly worse.

Same here. Ordered 5/1 and soon after approving leasing agreement it updated from "June" to 7/12-8/23 and hasn't moved since. Hoping I get a surprise update to June but doesn't seem likely. I got my 2021 LR quicker in the middle of COVID. :(

In one of the recent review videos it was mentioned that the new M3P will charge faster than the LR due to the battery (at least in the U.S.). Is this accurate and if so anyone know how much faster? What would estimated 20-80% charge times be? Thanks.

It’s probably anything that gets attention whether that be noise or a standout color. If you’re just cruising fast on the highway at a static speed noise from a ICE won’t be much different than any other ICE car.

I don't have any experience with PPF, ceramic, etc. If my car will be leased is there an issue with these? The primary benefits are protection from scratching/chips and easier to maintain, correct?

Can anyone provide a list of cars (aside from Plaids and Cyberbeast) that have faster 0-60 times than the new M3P? I imagine the list is not very long. Want to be clear on my bragging rights once I get it.

It's all speculation but I'm sure there is some algorithm they use that's most efficient/cost effective for them and not necessarily best/soonest for the customer. Like perhaps they wait until there is some threshold number of orders for a particular transit route before producing those.

I just watched that Out of Spec review. WOW. This car really seems to be near perfect and continues to meet or exceed all expectations from everyone who drives it. This is the best video of the new M3P yet. For everyone waiting go watch it. I'm so excited to get mine.

I ordered 5/1. SG/Black. Cleveland. No VIN. No EDD change for 3 weeks, 7/12-8/23. So absolutely nothing to report. Just wasting keystrokes, keep reading this fasting moving thread about basically nothing, and checking my app. The healthy thing to do would be just come back in a few weeks...

This is really getting ridiculous with the continued delays/reschedules. There clearly is some issue they are trying to resolve but are being far from transparent about it. We are really in the dark if this is some minor issue or a major issue +/- lack of employees to deal with it.

When I initially ordered on 5/1 it was “June” and then soon after I completed all finance stuff it changed to 7/12-8/23. It hasn’t moved at all since.

Thanks so much for this write up. Thats the most detailed we have seen from a non journalist/youtuber in terms of driving experience. I know you couldn’t truly test acceleration but based on your butt meter did it seem any faster than your current M3P?

Not sure but on his youtube page there is a 0-60 short but the beginning is cut off. He says his time is 3.1s. No idea how accurate a measurement that was. He also is under 80% charge.

None of this is making any sense. Most are getting delivery days pushed back multiple times due to maybe a required software update, maybe EPA or NHTSA issues. The one seemingly confirmed delivery didn't even have the latest software but was given a similar story. Not sure we'll ever really...

Was the exterior stealth grey? If so what did you think? Can’t wait till people start posting driving impressions so we can live vicariously through them until our July-Aug cars come in.

Maybe the extra performance comes from a small ICE.

I go out to Aug and there is only a few of us even that far. I would have thought the stock config of stealth grey/black that I ordered would have been the quickest to roll out but obviously not. Still hoping the dates move up. I got my 2021 LR in the middle of COVID faster than my current EDD.

When ordering first went active I believe it did say May-June on their site and then it changed to June but nothing since.

We have very similar situations. Stealth Grey with black interior ordered 5/1 (Cleveland, OH). Initially June and then 7/12-8/23. IDK why site has stayed at June estimate but doesn't seem to be accurate.

Still quite happy driving my 2021 M3LR with AB which will be traded in for M3P. Our other car is a 2022 Subaru Ascent but lease up soon and looking for EV or PHEV. And my EDD doesn't want to budge from 7/12-8/23.

Ordered a week after orders opened and still at July 12 - Aug 23. 😭 My trade in M3LR is going to be worth $10 by then! My LR with AB already feels slow just thinking about my M3P.

I disagree. I don’t think most Tesla buyers are looking at the performance version and are more likely interested in range and all season tires.

I know this is totally subjective but I have never understood the interest in engine and exhaust noise. To me the quieter the better. I guess the auditory feedback when driving manual was useful for deciding shift points but that's about it. I love the silent but fast aspect of EVs. Maybe...

Anyone have any idea what the scale of order numbers might be for the M3P so far? I would still think it's a niche market but really have no idea. 1000? 10,000?

Nice. The biggest issue will be ski trips with 5 pairs of skis and lots of luggage. I guess we could figure out an alternative plan for those trips as sometimes it's just going to the airport but not always. For other road trips we don't tend to have as much stuff.

While it's good to know I have the option of getting more range with smaller wheels since I'm leasing I probably will run the stock summers and just purchase a winter set since I'm in Cleveland. I don't take too many long trips with my car so I don't think it will be worth the expense...

Interesting. I'm assuming he meant swapping to summer tires of the same size would decrease range? I would think putting on 18" square wheels/tires would still get you more range.

I'm in NE Ohio so definitely will be getting a winter set of wheels/tires. I think I will initially see how I like the stock summer set up and what the range is like but suspect I will keep them and just swap with the winter set.

Is it true that so far there is no acceleration boost option on the LR highland? If true makes me feel less guilty for getting the M3P. I can’t downgrade. Also several pages back it was mentioned that you could get better range on the MP3 with smaller wheels. I know we can’t know for sure but...
