    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I think this is referring to the adaptive headlights. If the visualisation doesn't show a car ahead in the distance, it probably won't black it out in the high beam, so you can use the screen to know if it will be blinding people.

    Model Y Snow Chains

Did you end up using these with any luck? Looking to get some chains for my 20" that hopefully won't damage them.

    Superchargers in Australia

IMO both are needed. Along the inter-capital-city highways, yes add more to existing stations. However there are vast reaches of AU that are inaccessible using the SC network and we must rely on less reliable, and slower charging networks (if any at all). Now I'm not saying we need to get SC's...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Yeah the high beams do have horizontal lines across them where the pixels seem to darken across the bottom before the next row hits: https://i0.wp.com/driveteslacanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/New-Tesla-Model-3-headlights-high-beam-e1606374221404.png

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Thoughts after first drive with the new update: Great move to increase speedometer font size, makes a marked difference. Having the speed limit closer to actual speed is better as well. Love seeing the extra objects in the view (impressive to see how far ahead and how accurate the object...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

The 14.3 update became available for me today. Interestingly it showed up even though it was less than 24 hours since my last "check" in the software window. This mean the car must check (or allow pushes) even if you've manually requested it check for new updates. For note, my car has no access...

They mentioned you can have it full screen, 2/3 or 1/3 in size.

    Superchargers in Australia

Spots 3 - 7 are only separated by 142 votes. If people feel so inclined to help out our NZ friends I'm sure they would appreciate if we could help get Dunedin into the top 5 for them.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

    Superchargers in Australia

Since ours were so far behind, I threw a vote into Dunedin to help ensure NZ's south island gets a bit of love!

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

2.7 only has adaptive for M3H AFAIK. MY is from 8.X onwards.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

That's great news! I had quietly hoped it would do that since they become so obscenely bright when the high's hit them.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Likewise on 2024.2.7 here. 2024.2.12 was released yesterday now with a different set of new features to 2024.8.X (updated autopark & new visualisations). Interesting to see so many diverging versions at once.

Is there something wrong with MYLR?

Generally I find the speed sign reading good. Sometimes it's too good (reads off ramp speed signs thinking it's for the highway and you have to wait for another highway speed for it to correct). Only speed signs mine misses are some of the electronic ones. Sometimes it sees them, but generally...

Is there something wrong with MYLR?

As mentioned above, TACC is not capable enough for handling roundabouts smoothly. It doesn't take into account cornering speed enough and is mostly focused around lane centering, maximum speed limits & car follow distance. Saying that, it should be hugging the middle of the lane and not the...

    Road noise - 2023 Model Y

My MYLR (Aug23 build) has double glazed windows front and back and is extremely quiet. City streets tyre noise is negligible, highways it depends on the surface type but is generally nicely controlled. Even the shocking M2 is nearly a pleasure to drive on on vs my ICE BMW that lets you hear and...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Pressing the stalk button does allow you to then use the left wheel scroll to change speed up/down. Not ideal I know, but better than having to find the spot on the screen to press.

    Superchargers in Australia

I wholeheartedly agree with more DCFC in rural towns. While in the city there may be a congestion issue, there are many places you simply can't even drive to due to the lack of chargers. Further there are places you can drive to, but are high risk due to only having 1 NRMA charger available...

    Tesla 3, only 431 Km

    I have tracked my drives over the last 2,000km, so here's a breakdown of a MY LR range based on driving at different average speeds: 100km/h - 448km or 180wh/km 80km/h - 486km or 167wh/km 60km/h - 502km or 161wh/km 40km/h - 520km or 156wh/km I could definitely get the 40kmh & 60kmh driving...

Australian MYLR to get Acceleration Boost?

Yes I have it and it makes a very noticeable difference. I do wish that there was a 3rd acceleration mode though. The difference between Chill and Sport is quite large with the boost add on.

Australian MYLR to get Acceleration Boost?

iOS v16.6.1 and Tesla app v4.25.1 Purchase went through as expected & took about 1 hour for the car to show the update of "sport" acceleration mode. Gotta say, it is an instantly recognisable and substantial difference. I also noticed an increase in noise coming from the motors/battery when you...

Australian MYLR to get Acceleration Boost?

That's certainly a bit of a disingenuous take. They could have just as easily put in less powerful motors saving themselves money and not offered a boost. Or forced all LR models to come unlocked and increased the base price of the car by $3k. Not sure why you're so upset over an optional extra...

    Superchargers in Australia

Agreed that 8L/100km is too high for modern ICS cars at highway speeds. $11.2/$2.2 (current petrol price around here) = 5L/100km where petrol costs less than the current 70c/kWh pricing. Of course, the petrol prices fluctuates a lot so that will vary on the day and where you are. At 6L/100km...

    Model Y Accessories for Australia

Anyone got a good dog / pet seat cover for the MY? Have seen some complaints about the Tesla one where the clips don't hold well. I was looking at the Tesmanian one bu they don't seem to ship to AU.

Just wanting to confirm that he insurance you are talking about is comprehensive cover? I see in the costs that CTP is listed so I assume there is no need to do anything else with that. Other than comprehensive is there anything else insurance wise?

    Model Y Competitor Coming - Volvo EX30 0-60 in 3.4 Sec, Starts at $35K

Local pricing for the top tier option (twin motor performance ultra) has been released here in Australia and with current conversion rates it equates to ~47k USD. With a claimed 3.6s 0-100km/h (3.4s 0-60) time and 460km (285 mile) range, it's a pretty spicy package if they can get the software...

    Tesla - P License - NSW

It's not actually the kW/kg limit. The 3 SR+ is under the kW/kg limit but is instead limited due to the 0-100 time. I spoke with RMS about this and confirmed that any car with a sub 6 second 0-100 is restricted from P plates in NSW.
