    Roof Sun Shade - recommendations?

My immediate take is that it's not going to do the job and may not last long in the sunshine. Know it wouldn't here in NM.

Is my Model Y 2023 long range total loss or totaled?

So, I have a related question: did folks not use the Cruise Control/Auto Pilot/FSD? or were they driving the vehicle. At 78, I really depend upon the vehicle to stop as it is supposed when presented with a possible collision.

FSD Driving with no Location Set

I thought I had turned off FSD, but it turned out I hadn't. Sometimes I Ilike to use the Cruise Control and the stopping at stop signs, and red lights. So, I didn't set a navigation point, just took off. But I could feel how rigid the strewing was . Once I got to a corner I put the left...

    Help with phone key disconnecting

Yes--same here. But I was having more problems with that happening with our 2020 Model 3 right before we traded that in for the 2024 Model Y. Had a second identity create itself that I finally eliminated. In general, ,we find the Model Y to be more "together" than the older model 3 was...

Summon and FSD require more camera calibration

Well, se do have FSD but don't tend ot use it. Most offer driving is on back roads with unclear markings. But love the Cruise Control and once I realized I had to choose it from the screen, it has worked. Stops at signs and lights and react to bikes and other cars.

Debating the switch to 18 inch wheels from the 20 inch inductions

Well, We just switched to a 2024 Model Y from a Model 3 and it feels luxurious compared to that. Much bigger and more comfortable than the 3.

Summon and FSD require more camera calibration

Thanks. I also double checked tosee if I had "checked all the correct boxes" and discovered that I had to press two buttons under "Autopilot" to choose the stop at stop signs and traffic lights--Beta. It's working now. I am so happy.

Summon and FSD require more camera calibration

Well, I may be misusing terms. We set our Teslas up with one stalk down for cruise control and 2 stalks down for Auto Pilot (which includes Lane Assist). I never had issue with my Model 3---but it was 4 years ago and I can't remember how long it took to calibrate.

Trading in my M3 for MY - Sales process is a JOKE!

Low mileage and by trim do you mean FSD, LR..?

Summon and FSD require more camera calibration

We have a new 2024 Model Y with about 80 miles on it and on "Cruise Control" yesterday, it went through a stop sign. Granted, this is back road driving. How much longer do I need to wait fo sit all to be calibrated?

Trading in my M3 for MY - Sales process is a JOKE!

Well, we are picking up our new model Y this morning here near Santa Fe--at the Pojoaque Pueblo site and trading in our 2020 Model 3. We have had a different experience. We did communicate through texts, though I did have a couple phone calls. I asked for a phone number and got one I used. It...

How to get fair value for FSD on a trade in?

Yup--you know about hindsight..They transferred it to the new Model Y we just purchased and gave us an ok trade in on the 2020 Model 3 we are trading in. I am looking forward to more space.

Debating the switch to 18 inch wheels from the 20 inch inductions

I thought the small ones were better on range.

    Tesla playing games with trade-in....

Trade in values are depressing. Things depreciate quickly. My head is getting around it as the reality.

    Model 3 Bluetooth Re-Pairing Problem

Had the same problem, not being able to open my car door or drive the car, after being gone for 5 days on a family trip. Was it having the phone on airplane mode four times? I don't know what else would account for the problem. I had to really work on getting the bluetooth connection...

    FSD Ripoff or Not?

I agree with everything you have said. We bought a 2020 Model 3, LR. And paid for the FSD. Have not used it.

Why is AP dropping 20mph on freeway

Is auto Steer the same as Cruise Control? because that is all I use. This is not the same as the Phantom Braking.
  25. J

Why is AP dropping 20mph on freeway

The times the aggressive slowing has occurred, there were NO other cars around. I just made an appointment withe Service Center--a week away. This is something totally different from anything I have experienced in driving our 2020 Model 3.
  26. J

    Major Phantom Braking Issues

I have experienced the same thing recently. We have a 2020 Model 3, LR, and I love the "cruise control;" and generally have no problem with it. But just recenlty--like over the last several weeks--I have experienced aggressive slowdowns on the highway with no apparent reason. It just happened...

    Phantom Slow-Down and Phantom Will-Not-Speed-Up

I had a very odd drive this afternoon--doing a straight away at about 40 on "Cruise Control" and the car starts slowing very strongly to about 15 mph---nothing apparently causing it .... I had to take over and get back to speed. And it happened one more time on the same suburban streets.

    Cruise control not adjusting speed

Same here. I always assume I will have to adjust with the little rolling ball on the driver's wheel. The only speed change it responds to here in my area is the speed sign near the I-25 interchange...??

Thanks. I appreciate the encouragement. And I love miniature golf.

What are people that bought Full FSD doing?

Well, I share your frustration. I think we are stuck with what we have for now--unless we ever get our Rivian reservation honored! I do like my 2020 Model 3 but we do feel cheated on the FSD. I marvel at those folks on UTube who praise the FSD and how well it operates. We haven't found that to...

    Full Self Driving in Australia

We paid for FSD back in 2020 and regret doing so, since during Covid, we didn't travel much and are still catching up with travel.I like the Cruise Control and use it exclusively and consistently and know that the car has kept me from several collisions. We have to cross near some interstates...

MYLR / MYP - March Order Waiting Room

So we are thinking of buying a new Model Y--with better driving comfort than what our Model 3 has been . Great car otherwise--absolutely no problems, just feels every bump. But their suggested trade-in was way off--so am thinking of dealing with Carvana. Thoughts?

[UK centred discussion] The cat is out of the bag. True FSD will never happen for cars below HW4

I feel betrayed. and ripped off. I am writing from New Mexico and am going to call my congressman and the US Department of Transportation. UGH.
  38. J

Can HW4 be retrofitted to 2018 Tesla 3 [no]

Yes--that is what I just heard on UTube yesterday.
  39. J

Should I buy a demo model 3 w/300 miles that already had drive unit replaced?

We have a 2020 Model 3 LR and have had no issues. I would wait for another car.

Tesla slams into stationary fire truck. Driver killed. Police say “unclear” if AP/FSD at fault.

Well, I agree with you. But I am. perplexed as to why this I happening. I only use the Cruise Control and have ok driving experiences--in the sense of my Tesla M3 stopping to avoid collisions: mainly someone pulling in front of me to get to the highway entrance that I drive past on my way home...

Tesla slams into stationary fire truck. Driver killed. Police say “unclear” if AP/FSD at fault.

Unsettling. But, what the heck was going on with thee driver? unless there was a real car malfunction. I only use the Cruise and it has always stopped the car before impact--if cars are pulling in front of me or coming too close, etc. But I am always hands on car and alert... We have the FSD...

Tesla FSD Beta Twitter Drama from Elon Musk

I am 76 and not a math major--or a tech expert. We purchased our 2020 Tesla Model 3 in good faith and signed on with extra pay for the FSD. This was early on in development. We were in the Beta program awhile back but not driving enough to get decent scores. We got frustrated and dropped...
