The software update turns on the cabin camera. You didn’t have issue because that camera was not turned on before the software update. The camera EMI effects the gps. That’s what I heard from other people who had similar issue. Not sure if you have the same issue, there is always a chance it...

My ex gf worked for tesla supplier company. And I can tell you tesla only purchase the cheap quality parts to reduce the cost. I have compared the parts. Yeah.. it’s pretty bad to be honest. Now I can see why both my model y and x have so many issues.

Same issue with my model x. Service center in Santa Clara said they know the issue and will fix it. Maybe you can take the car over there

That’s correct. Once the cabin camera is turned on, it causes emi interference.

Due to gps drifting issue, makes driving on fsd dangerous. I took the car in and they told me it’s software issue. It’s not. It’s hardware. I’m taking the car in again to get it fixed, if they do not getting it fixed properly I will invoking lemon law.

May I ask which service center fixed it for you? I might just take my car to the same service center to get it fixed since the one in fremont has no clue about how to fix it

Thanks for letting me know. I just talked to a lemon law attorney friend today and he thought it’s a good opportunity for class action lawsuit. But his business partner talked him down for many seasons. I also didn’t want go that far. Just wanted to get my car fixed.

It’s been weeks, tesla still did not get to the bottom of my gps issue and have no interest fix it for me.

I got the car back. They told me everything is fine and I just have to wait for software update. I know it’s not software so I made another request asking them to fix the gps issue.

It’s not software. The cause has been found. It’s cabin camera interference with gps cable causing it drift.

I have the same issue. The tech from fremont tesla service center told me it’s a software issue. I know it’s not, but he insist it is. I’m taking the car in again to ask them fix it

I bought a extended long mouse pad and painted with Matte black. Works better than a dash mat

I did and it’s pretty ugly. Use a dash mat on a 150k car looks like a grandma ‘s underwear

Sorry, I only said it from my own experience. Maybe I don’t have thin kids, they need bigger space. I was poor when I got married that why my wife isn’t thin

I still have not have my car back. But I did talk to a few model x owners across USA and Canada. It seems not software issue like the sa have said. It’s definitely a hardware issue. Some model x owner already have their cars fixed.

It won’t be ready this year for sure. 99% of the software can be done relative quickly , but that last 1% May take years or never. You may never have the real fsd. Paying for the fsd is a gamble that the odd is against you. Btw I also bought fsd 2nd time

It gets stronger on bright sunny days or at certain position to the sun.

I tried with matte finish detailing product, which did not help. I also tried to use a black matte extended mouse pad, it worked! However, having a mouse pad in front of a 130k car just makes me feel disappointed. I assume painting the grill matte black will eliminate glare.

My Model Y is much better for glare reflection as the front dash speaker/vents grill does not take a large area. The reflection on the model X takes more than half of the windshield. If it's a problem for you for model Y ( not a problem for me at all ), then model X will be a bigger problem.

I actually thought about that. I’m trying to see if a dull spray works , if not I’d try to replace with a upholsterer.

Thanks for letting me know. Looks like all the model x have the same issue, just the matter if the driver notice it or not. It may not be an issue for some people

I went to Fremont Tesla and checked out a few model X with both black and white interiors. They all have similar issues. It looks like this. If you can take a look at your windshield under the sun and let me know, that would be great. If this is an issue only for a few people, I will report it...

Believe or not, this issue has not been resolved after 7 years with the new refreshed model X.

Yeah, I saw it on amazon. It's a bit grandma's underwear style looking dash mat though... Need to find something looks more pleasing.

Which tint did you get ? I have 3m crystalline for my model y. But I didn’t like the color cue. The heat protection is amazing tho

I went to the tesla factory and checked out a few Tesla model x. They all have it under sunlight. Maybe you got lucky.
