    2024.3.10; Any Feedbackss

i noticed the wiper coming on last night but nothing different from previous non-FSD SW versions I had before. Just trying FSD now and am actually surprised at how “good” it is considering all the comments I’ve read. I sm still under the impression that 12.3.3 is much better than the previous...

Sounds right. I think it’s labeled “auto speed” (or something like rhat” and was off by default

    2024.3.10 (FSD 12.3.3) Broke my 22MY

Sorry about your issues. Also got 2024.3.10 recently. Drove it in supervised FSD mode. Worked like a charm. It’s my first time to use FSD. It works much better than I thought. 2021 TMY.

Trip to Vegas, Grand Canyon North Rim and Zion National Park on MYP

Just stop in Kanab. It’s about 8 miles off your route but you will need to charge - based on my experience. Also, Chargepoint has Fast DC chargers - 4 I believe.

Great Basin National Park: Closest EV Charger?

Ely is still quite a ways. There’s at least a couple of places to charge at Baker - NEMA 14-50, J-1772, and wall. It’s unnerving to see such a notification (see picture) though i still managed to do the scenic drive and camped for the night with 24%. I hope to wake up with a 10-15% charge. 🤞

    Disturbance at super charger

Just give the guy a little break. He’s been daydreaming about owning a Tesla… and he’s charging that moment. 🤷‍♂️He just needed the feel of parking at a Tesla charging station for a more complete experience. 😁 Should have told him a dollar a minute if he’s not charging. 😁

Great Basin National Park: Closest EV Charger?

Planning a trip from Las Vegas to Lehman Campground at Great Basin NP on a TMY LR. Where is the closest charger to GBNP? What’s the recommended route? I am thinking Fwy 93 but I haven’t verified/plotted this on tesla navigation yet. Appreciate any thoughts.

Trip to Vegas, Grand Canyon North Rim and Zion National Park on MYP

I did a similar trip on MY LR fairly recently. LV to Kingman to Tusayan (South Rim) to Page to St George (or Mesquite) to LV. If passing or going to the North Rim, you will need a Kanab stop.

Has non-Tesla charging at Superchargers officially started in the US?

😂. Never mind ! The Volvo pulled-in but left immediately. Guess not! 😁

Has non-Tesla charging at Superchargers officially started in the US?

Yes. This location is already always packed with 5 teslas already waiting in line now. I was hoping they will only open locations that are not always fully utilized.

    Car Camping in RV sites?

I am not saying “most” RV campgrounds are allowing cars. What i saw in the few campgrounds i have been near me and the ones where I stayed have a mix of RVs, cars, trucks, trailers, and even 1 motorcycle with a solo tent. Good idea to call first. I always pitch a tent - for my things and other...

    Car Camping in RV sites?

There are places that really defined what qualifies as an “RV” and they might decide to impose that definition. Afterall, they might not want to upset their serious RV-er clients. Personally, I argued my TMY is my RV but haven’t really insisted on it. I also found campgrounds that are not...

    Portable refrigerators for Model Y

I recently bought a Dometic CFX3 55IM in time for a 3-day trip. Kept an eye on how my mileage (MY LR) can get impacted. I would say hardly noticeable even at 25 degF temperature setting and with the ice maker on the whole time. Note: Dometic only suggests 41 degF (typical use I suppose). I...

    2-piece Roof Sunshade

To those who own a 2-pc shade already, are you able to install just a half piece - just the backside, for example. I don’t think anyone markets their roof shade as such. Sometimes you may not necessarily want the shade over your head if it isn’t that sunny yet while keeping the shade for...

Floor Jack: Do you carry one?

Does anyone keep a floor jack permanently in the car or during road trips? I bought the lightest I can find at the time but it is still about +/- 40 lbs and bulky. What brand and jack specs do you have? Thank you.

The catastrophe of FSD and erosion of trust in Tesla

Personally, i hope someone (individuals/people/groups) sue Tesla for how the beta is managed/implemented. Not because you posted a some warning and fine print does/should not relieve them of responsibility. would that be similar to giving alcohol to a minor (without supervision)? ✌️ 😁

The success of FSD and my increase for trust in Tesla

Nice to know. Sounds impressive. This is when drivers need to focus and pay more attention. Personally, i know i will be letting my guard down if i had the FSD. Dangerous for me to have it 😁. Autopilot is good enough.

The success of FSD and my increase for trust in Tesla

If you haven’t accepted it yet, that’s just how you can/will drive with autopilot or FSD… BE PREPARED to take over. I am not even thinking FSD beta as i know my score is probably at the lowest possible. 🤷‍♂️ I want to be able to drive it the way i like, score or no score.

The success of FSD and my increase for trust in Tesla

Driving TMY while waiting delivery of my R1T. Rivian will have a long way to go to be where Tesla is now re: software/autopilot and charging network but that will just have to be it - growing pains. I prefer R1T for what i can do and where i can take it (the adventures i can do) compared to the...

Are rear mud flaps really necessary?

IMHO they are pretty light and installed very low to really have quantifiable impact. I installed them for cosmetic reasons though am sure it is functional as well.

ChargePoint installation advice - NEMA 6-50 vs. 14-50?

What did you decide? I just had to choose and i decided NEMA 14-50. i sacrificed a 60A ckt (50A charge current) for the flexibility of a plug-in so i can bring the Charger with me if i move.

NEMA 14-50 or Hardwire ChargePoint electric company paying for service upgrade

One indication the electrician is good is knowledge of the local code/requirements are. Specifically, whether a GFCI breaker is required on not. All set for home charging - Our story for 14-50 install.

If you want to be able to charge at 48A, you have to install a 60A brkr but that will most probably require the charger to be hardwired to the panel.
  49. W

Where to wire Charger in Garage

Where you locate your charger also depends on where your panel is especially if cost of adding a new charging outlet is a factor. I believe there may also be a limit to how long your cable run is for hardwire hookup and even the NEMA outlet. The charger is best on the driver side garage wall...
