Major scam happening on YouTube live

I have just been on YouTube watching what appeared to be a live video from an official Tesla event. Elon talking and taking questions from the audience. All of a sudden he talks very scripted, a QR code shows in the corner of the screen and he is asking people to send in crypto currency claimng...

Very true. From the start we knew it would only get more and more. But at least 10 years ago, when I started, you could catch the superchargers in your area and go back home and be god for a while. Today, the moment you drive, a new one opens. Oddly it is always in the area you just left, never...

Walk away door lock mystery solved

Keeping a key card in the car is similar, except a phone with a disabled key function is safer as the phone is locked. Even if someone were to physically break into your car, they still can't drive it as the phone is locked. I think it's pretty save to keep a phone in the car with the 'phone...

Info from Tesla - 277v feed to Wall Connector (HPWC) - Which Cars Support It

I believe even the very first Model S chargers supported 277 Volt. After all, they were used in the early V1 superchargers. Of course that was never official back then. I doubt we will see this catch on. Pubic L2 chargers are about 50/50 208 Volt vs 240 Volt. I haven't watched the video, just...

I did a scenic drive around the Northeast enjoying nature and picking up a few new stations on the way. 1400 miles in 2.5 days. Throughout the entire trip my efficiency was 270 Wh/mile which is exactly the rated consumption for my Y. Despite not optimizing my charge times at all (I usually...

Walk away door lock mystery solved

What's the purpose of the feature then? The pairing process is too cumbersome if you have to do it over and over just to disable one phone temporarily. I assumed that was the whole purpose of the feature. And in fact it does exactly that except the walk away lock. Every other functionality of...

Walk away door lock mystery solved

I can lock the car from my other phone or a key card. It will stay locked even if the phone is inside with 'phone key' disabled. It will not keep the car unlocked, it will not allow it to be opened nor driven. That's exactly what I expected from this feature. Just odd that there is this residual...

Walk away door lock mystery solved

I had the worst time getting 'walk away lock' to work. In my previous two Model S it worked fine but I was using the key fob. With my Y and using just the phone it just wouldn't work. The car kept warning me the doors are not locked when I parked the car. I doubled check driver profiles and...

    Best tires for 2024

I have been driving Tesla for 10 years. Currently a MYP. I sold the original wheels and went with 18 inch rims and Micheline Defenders. They might not be the most quiet tire on the market, but so far I'm extremely impressed. I put 22k miles on them and they look 'like new'. I was lucky to get...

Same here. With my new Y I have a hard time keeping up with the car. It charges so fast. Normal sit down meals aren't even possible any more. I wish they would add some urban type 72 kW max stalls. Those are ideal if you plan on taking a longer stop.

NTSB update for Autopilot has me looking for an anti-nag device

Now it's down to $99 a mont for full self driving. That makes buying it outright even less attractive. In fact I would be upset if I had spent $12k on it just 6 months ago when I got my car. Is the HEPA filter used all the time?

Is the HEPA filter used all the time?

That has been fixed by Tesla via software. The car will run the cabin air fan to dry the filters if needed. I noticed this often when I park my car after driving in it for a while.

Is the HEPA filter used all the time?

I tried to find some info but I can't find anything definitive. My Oct 2023 Model Y P has the normal cabin air filters in the center foot well. But it also has the large HEPA filters under the hood. As the HEPA filters used all the time or only when I turn on the 'bioweapon defense mode'...

    battery drain airport parking

I agree, the obsession with minimizing battery degradation is not necessary. Moderate loss of battery degradation doesn't affect daily driving whatsoever.
