    [UK] 2024.14.x

Agreed but for the sake of harmonising software versions I doubt they will bother to maintain a flag in the code to enable restrictions whether the car was delivered after 7/7/24 or not. Will see…

    [UK] 2024.14.x

No actually July is the deadline for the requirement to apply to all cars still being offered for sale at this date. The requirement for new cars introduced to EU/UK exists since July 2022. I believe the chimes introduced to Highland are therefore sufficient according to Tesla to satisfy the...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

It's unclear if the current implementation would be enough actually. I understand if they were to slow down the car by adjusting TACC/AP whenever a lower speed limit sign is seen that would be enough.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Same here, finally! Guess they're phasing out 2024.8.9 by EOD at this rate.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Right. I think along with the (useless) climate button, this nav button, and the split of Arcade/Theater/Toybox (you can't switch between the three from top menu tabs anymore) following the split of Phone & SMS a couple releases ago, they want to give each functionality its own app as a...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Agreed for climate. I'm guessing this is a button for people unfamiliar with Tesla UI. As for nav, not anymore with the big car on park it isn't . Hence the need for the toggle I guess.

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Got an email telling me IO lost connection to my car and to switch to a Virtual Key by July 1st or I'd be booted off the IO tariff. The email mentioned that they wrote to me a couple weeks back but I actually never received anything apart from reports from others on this thread... Seems like...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

I think I polled the refresh updates too many times! Still nothing for me and I used to be in the early batch. Also as part of the hot weather HVAC improvements, I was hoping to see something smart, like A/C turning off automatically when I open my windows but seems that's a bit too much to...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Seems to be mainly targeted at M3 and those who had a flawed minor revision (14.5 - 17.7). Still nothing for MY owners on 8.9 so far it seems

    UK FSD Discussion

In case you missed it, Automated Vehicles Bill already received royal assent on Monday. It is now known as Automated Vehicles Act 2024. But the earliest is still for 2026 https://www.gov.uk/government/news/self-driving-vehicles-set-to-be-on-roads-by-2026-as-automated-vehicles-act-becomes-law

    Tesla Phone Key

Because JLR only has to handle their own fobs so it's easier to transition away from legacy BT. With Tesla you can't expect people to change their phones for the newest UWB compatible one when buying a new Highland (or should they :D ). Also, makes me wonder if the nice Tesla shaped keyfobs...
  15. W

    Tesla Phone Key

I wonder if it's simply for backwards compatibility with non-UWB phones that are still legion. So they still have to rely on bluetooth. Maybe with time they can have a toggle to use UWB only...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Even 14.7 doesn't have the new vision only Autopark for non-USS or USS yet. It's only on the FSD beta branch 2024.3.x (US only) and newer 2024.9.5 that hasn't rolled out yet but is expected to be US only too. So probably in a much later 14.9 version or another major update globally.

    Unlock Charge Port - Idea

Absolutely true. To prevent any kind of d***head from unplugging your car. But interrupting the pilot lead will nevertheless stop the charge momentarily (without releasing the cable). And the RF transmitter to open the charge port works no matter what. So it's just to unlock the cable that the...
  18. W

    Unlock Charge Port - Idea

Yes, I believe it is simply breaking the pilot lead. Also, unrelated, but has an RF transmitter for opening the charge flap at a distance.
  19. W

    Unlock Charge Port - Idea

I think at least originally, there was an electrical reg issue where tethered was deemed illegal for AC chargers located outside, hence the need for a female socket on the charger side for T2. And now, less vandalism & cable cuts I'm sure
  20. W

    Unlock Charge Port - Idea

Open charge port will unlock the cable as well, although I agree it's poorly documented.
  21. W

    Unlock Charge Port - Idea

Yes it's the issue but on the other hand, there aren't many scenarios, even if you're sharing a charger, where you would have enough room / cable length so you could unplug the 'full' car and plug yours instead. Plus there would be some etiquette issues with some drivers I'm sure. So I guess...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

2024.14.7 seems to be incoming, finally some reported installs in EU/UK. Although it seems primarily aimed at those who already had 14.6... Hopefully later today or tomorrow!
  23. W

    Unlock Charge Port - Idea

But they usually lock at both ends during a charge. Siri shortcut on the phone works for me. It’s not only to stop people walking away with your cable, but also for tethered ones, to stop ICE drivers with a grudge from unplugging a row of cars at random.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I think the thread will come back on track once 14.7 will hit our shores. Still not the case at the moment so very little to report. Still eagerly awaiting the update, as we have been for the past two weeks..

Tesla app to set up service is IDIOTIC - change my mind

This! Also, sometimes you have to select a centre, but turns out you'll get mobile service. The whole thing isn't clear. The UX needs to be updated.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I feared that this would be coming when Tesla introduced the new API and nudged all third party apps to migrate to it. I love Tessie, but sadly if comes a day when they want to hike my subscription from 4.99 to 12.99, it will be the day they lose me as a customer.

  29. W

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Well, according to Tessie they released the expected FSD 12.4 but under 2024.9.5. Might be the reason why they were keen to keep at least half the fleet off 2024.14 to allow the upgrade. But I don't understand why they wanted to keep an older branch rather than converting everyone to 2024.14...

Disabling of speed camera warnings for driving in France

The red exclamation mark does NOT indicate the exact position of the camera. I suspect it is simply displayed at he middle of the stretch of road designated as a 'danger zone'. The camera can be anywhere, from the very beginning of that portion to the very end.. They don't do that. They can...

    Tesla app charge stat

Personally I never bump charges. So I've set my app to always consider home charging done at 7.5p. Seems to be the easiest way.

Has anyone any experience with a Dylink Cast Pro to get Apple CarPlay?

I experimented with a couple ones (Carlinkit). They all work in the same way by creating a WiFi network the car has to connect to, and will emulate CarPlay through the car's browser. It's an imperfect solution. You often get wifi disconnects, the BT bridge with your phone for connectivity is...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Yes, sorry. I meant by everyone even basic AP. But HF Park Assist is indeed AMD only. (Probably rendering issues on Intel?). But the new Vision only Autopark v2 should be made available for both Intel & AMD.
  35. W

    [UK] 2024.14.x

I don't think there's anything US specific about Autopark vs UNECE regs. Especially now that the new software version we use also has FSD v12 codebase I would expect a global rollout of Autopark v2 (vision based) . Obviously it won't have banish/summon the way US does but for the scenario where...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

It's a choice you can (for now) change from Settings. Yes I believe it's been confirmed it will no longer show USS distances when using the new Park Assist. (So use at your own risk lol) And in the next update, the new Autopark that uses Vision only will be made available, so it will also no...

    Speed limit and warming chime

Some news on Intelligent Speed Assist. It would seem Tesla has updated the user manual (at least for M3) https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_eu/GUID-C2FBB4F9-EDC1-4E18-AEE4-D1BCC23B01A3.html Excludes United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Iceland, Turkey, Israel: A chime sounds when you...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Park Assist (new high-fidelity visualisations) is for everyone. Opt-in basis in the settings as it disables USS. Autopark (car parks itself) requires EAP/FSD same as before.

Yes of course, they are rolling to people who first got their MY delivered two years ago at present, so you should receive your 2024.14 update somewhere in the middle of 2026... :D

    [UK] 2024.14.x

My understanding is this version packs FSD v12 but outside USA/Canada no bits of code are used and we still rely on legacy code with UNECE provisions for AP / Summon etc... We might see some 'flags' enabled for partial upgrades like the new Autopark soon but this isn't the case yet afaik...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Well, I have to figure out why I've fallen from Elon's grace. I used to get my updates in the first batch of the very first few % of the fleet on Teslafi. We're above 20%+ now and still nothing in sight... Still hopeful to play with it this weekend and try HF Park Assist on my USS car.
