Got hit by a truck trailer on my M3. What to do?

Doubtful it is totaled, but I'd be fighting for fault to be placed and then go after diminished value.

    2020 Tesla Model 3 Performance - 21k miles - $44k

Just had someone put a deposit down, if it falls through for whatever reason I will definitely reach out to you. Funny, I sold a Golf R right before I bought the 3 also.

Minor dent on driver rear side

That is going to take someone with some serious PDR talent. Since you are in the UK I couldn't say, stateside that is a few hundred + do to the location and degree of difficulty.

    2020 Tesla Model 3 Performance - 21k miles - $44k

Excellent condition inside and out, we are the second owners. Car lives inside the garage full time, we work from home and have multiple other vehicles. VIN: 5YJ3E1EC3LF746889 - just over 21k miles, clean and clear title in hand. Carfax is spotless, no accidents. - tires have 80% tread left...

    Lease vs Loan

Completely depends on what kind of car buyer you are, your financial situation, and economic factors. There are some instances where it is financially beneficial to lease, and there are certain ones where buying is the only option.

It should be, and you should fight for it to be.
  18. C

Should I fix this before returning a lease?

I would touch that up slightly and all it a day. Parking block scrapes are pretty normal, and very few lease returns get called out for that.

Dent removal in the rocker panel

I'd get a 2nd PDR opinion, that one is close.

Model 3 Accident Repair - Rear Right

I don't care if they want it repaired, I'm fighting that one tooth and nail for full totaled. Way too much damage.

New owner… I wish someone would've warned me

It's a good A-B/ occasional car, I wouldn't want to daily drive it or it to be my only means of transportation. I don't keep cars very long anyway, but I really got bored of this thing way faster than I should have.
  24. C

New owner… I wish someone would've warned me

Yeah but I am starting to miss the sound and driving characteristics of actual sports cars. Won't be much longer with the M3P and I've only had it a few months.

Model 3 resell values have plummeted.

Supply is up, demand is down. It's hitting ALL brands, just hitting Tesla more because there are a ton of them right now.

Rear ended. CarFax and reduced value with insurance?

Canada has some major differences based on province compared to what most states do here in the US, especially regarding diminished value claims which is what we were speaking to specifically.
  27. C

Would you get this dent removed?

    This ^
  28. C

Rear ended. CarFax and reduced value with insurance?

Someone created a report, they don't happen magically. Body shops do not have access to create accident reports, only law enforcement agencies do that. It's easy to find out who did it, and make them update it accordingly also.
  29. C

Rear ended. CarFax and reduced value with insurance?

Without a police report, it is unlikely a minor accident shows up on a Carfax. Someone somewhere made a report. (The body shop could have posted that they performed work, but they don't add accidents to Carfax reports) Reason for this is simple: say your taillight housing was foggy and you just...

Rear ended. CarFax and reduced value with insurance?

If you can do this, it will never show on the Carfax ^^

Rear ended. CarFax and reduced value with insurance?

Diminished value is definitely a thing in Canada, I've seen several posts about people getting it. (Depends on specifically which part you live in: https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/vehicles-insurance-accidents-diminished-value-1.4675414 also: Diminished Value of Canada - and yes you may need...

Rear ended. CarFax and reduced value with insurance?

Ah Canada, the land where insurance makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. (I never looked at your profile, just assumed USA) Forget everything I said, file the claim, and tell them you want diminished value. It is protected under law and I imagine you will have a hell of a fight on your hands...
  33. C

Rear ended. CarFax and reduced value with insurance?

I would absolutely not file a report for something this small unless I absolutely needed to. The damage is cosmetic (and small), and your concern of lowering the vehicles value is correct if this hits it's Carfax. If she is willing to work with her insurance to settle this nicely, that's what...

Rear ended. CarFax and reduced value with insurance?

Who said touch up? Again, any legit shop will have no problem matching the paint. You asked about mismatched color being a concern, it isn't. The reason I asked about this is simple, without a police report and accident status, this could just as easily be left off of the vehicles Carfax if...
  35. C

Rear ended. CarFax and reduced value with insurance?

They are claiming they have never heard of diminished value claims? Sounds like a reputable company. Did you file a police report? Is it definitely being fixed through insurance? Any legit shop will have no problem matching paint, that is not a concern.

Opinion on buying A Preowned Model 3 2019 with 114k Miles?

Assumption is the mother of all F ups. Used as a taxi for 40k per year? Nope, easy pass. (NY adds to the negatives as well)

    Totaled or Not Totaled?

I'd sure as hell want it totaled if I were you. It's close, but I could see them wanting to fix it.

    Help - Curbed Underside Model 3 2022

Tell me which model 3 to purchase and why (or why not)

If you don't deal in rebuilt/salvage vehicles for a living, one of these vehicles with a bad title is not for you. Period. If you know what you are doing, are mechanically savvy, and buy and sell frequently, you can make a buck or two on vehicles like this from time to time. It is a hassle...

Traded my M3P for an RS3 - My thoughts on both cars for what it's worth

Traded my M3P for an RS3 - My thoughts on both cars for what it's worth

RS Audi vehicles have held their value EXTREMELY well even taking out this over inflated market. There is absolutely no statistic pointing to the M3 holding it's value better than the RS3.

Traded my M3P for an RS3 - My thoughts on both cars for what it's worth

Before I even scrolled down, I figured you bought the green one. (I usually go for press release colors also) Had a 2018 RS3 that I loved, but I agree the 0-60 comparison is further apart than the published times make it seem to be. Interior quality, track performance and better looks go to...

Have done of 25+ Brembo brake jobs, never seen a pin shanked like that. As stated above, you are going to be cutting it carefully.
