Is Elon thinking of REHIRING some of the fired SuperCharging folks

Adding to this--according to public reporting--that team was primarly responsible for planning & logistics for new supercharger locations. Interfacing with a cobweb of private and public landowners, local governments, utility companies, and more. That means lots of relationships that had to be...

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

So what happens here? T minus two weeks before we start seeing slow degradation of Supercharger reliability/uptime? That's a LOT of institutional knowledge walking out the door. I have a M3 and was probably going to stick with it for the next 5-6 years, then probably get another Tesla. I...

2022 Model 3 RWD Review (graduating from a Camry)

2022 Tesla Model 3 RWD review – graduating from a Camry Ordered and took delivery on a 2022 Tesla Model 3 RWD back when wait times were ungodly. There are a million of these reviews on here, so I’ll try to give a perspective not often discussed. My prior car: think mid-2010s Honda Accord...

    Cracked windscreen

In house Tesla service centers typically do full replacement of windshields instead of spot fixes. Can be done same day, but they may keep the car overnight so the adhesive fully sets. Windshield wont be waterproof until it sets (from what i understand at least)

Mobile Charger: Do I need it?

As others have mentioned, it just depends on your specific use case. My personal situation requires driving to & staying at places with light charging infrastructure. Not all the time, but it happens often enough. Plugging in overnight for an extra (very slow) 20-30% charge helps a ton for me.

Any suggestions to take trip from New jersey in model 3

The Tesla supercharger website has a map where you can filter by “Destination Charging” or something like that. Those are hotels w/ supercharger or powerwall access if I remember right. Always call the location tho… just in case the map is out of date or the chargers are out of service...

    So much Tesla hate now

I felt it when I first got my M3 but it was mostly in stop and go traffic. My braking skills were pretty ass at the time since I wasn’t used to one-pedal driving. Exhibit A: out of habit, id fully release the accelerator expecting to coast and bleed 5mph in speed, and then remember that…...

    Model 3 for commuting

I get a phantom braking incident on nearly every long drive. For the sake of argument, I’ll arbitrarily define a long drive as 100mi+. But as others have mentioned, the conditions are somewhat predictable, at least in daytime. SoCal roads are notoriously shoddy in some areas, e.g. a dark...

    Model 3 for commuting

The M3P should serve you just fine in terms of range, and if you’re trying to optimize your mileage, just google/youtube your way through all the tips & tricks. If you’re in stop-and-go traffic for extended periods of time, autopilot may become nauseating (literally), as the car likes to...

Confirmed that MCU3 (Ryzen) in 3/Y does NOT have a discrete GPU?

I wonder if the market demand among 3/Y owners is big enough to warrant steam integration. (I for sure don’t know the answer) But in my personal use case (M3 RWD, overnight access to L2 chargers): I don’t supercharge for long enough to get deeply into any videogame. 20-40mins is too short...

    Tesla inventory cheaper vs new

A tesla dealership rep mentioned that sometimes people will (1) order a car online and then (2) when it’s time to arrange delivery, they can’t get their finances in order… so they lose their current spot and car gets passed to the next person in the queue (or posted on the website) Could be...

    Sentry Mode (yes or no)

My 2c: personally keep sentry mode on at home… but only while i sleep (my area has quite a few car break-ins, all happen in the early AM hours). I also keep it on when in sketchy areas, or when in places that just feel “off.” It wont stop a motivated thief, but hopefully deters the...

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

If Tesla goes w/ the yoke on the 3/Y, would it make sense for them to include a snap-on kit that converts the yoke to a full steering wheel? And then drivers simply choose what they want. Tesla gets the benefit of mass user feedback, esp as drivers discuss their yoke-vs-wheel preferences on...

Should I take out a loan or pay with cash?

At your income level—I would get a cheaper car and keep your savings. 100k savings is a GREAT starting point for nest egg if you invest it correctly. Especially if you plan on letting it grow over decades. But if a Tesla is non-negotiable, then maybe finance part of the vehicle cost and...
