Is this a "Houston, we have a problem" moment for Tesla?

The only problem we have is trevrex trying to sell kia with a weekly thread in tesla owners forum. If this is being discussed already in the other thread you created why do we need a new one?

Kia EV6 GT Line AWD compared to my Tesla Model Y LR

I've never used a third party app on car play. Much rather have good native software. If apple play was a feature on tesla I wouldnt use it. I'm sure many others agree. It's merely a talking point for washed up reviewers trying to become relevant again by shitting on tesla

Kia EV6 GT Line AWD compared to my Tesla Model Y LR

"a story about how I purchased an expensive car and need to justify it" 2 hours of driving isn't really enough to make definitive comparisons of cruise control, lane keeping etc. What about ADAS and safety? What did you pay for each car?

    Superchargers in Australia

Nothing matters apart from the customer experience It will take time to see how this effects the end user. Even then it will be difficult because musk running things lean ensures we get super cheap EVs. currently a model 3 perfomance is cheaper than a base model polestar. "let that sink in"

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

so we dont get the automatic liftgate in australia? cant see it in the update notes

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Got the update. It's a completely reworked UI. Very happy with it. Visualizations have also improved significantly. Feels like a new car.

    Cybertruck spotted in Sydney

The considerable interest and preorders would indicate you're the out of touch one. Objectively it's a very good product with an iconic appearance and a reasonable price. "absolute f'ing joke" is ignorance.

    Cybertruck spotted in Sydney

I love my base model 3 because it's one of the most energy efficient cars i can drive. I agree I would prefer a truck focused more of efficiency, but at the end of the day it's also just not a product that is aimed at me. There is a large amount of truck people who couldnt give a flying f about...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

why the hell would you ever tell people to waste their time doing this to their keycard... I havent used the key card at all since i picked up the car two years ago....

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

Probably buying model Y. Still a massive car. just no 7 seat option. KIA EV 9 would be closer in terms of size but the software etc has no tesla feel
  11. B

    Tesla Vision vs Parking Sensors

Im not sure he realises his car with radar is also doing the 3d reconstruction. So basically it's a completely moot comparison.

TFL is getting an AWD Cybertruck Foundation

You would think that youtube influences would know that the order allocation is not purely based on number but also location... Additionally they have been invited to configure a foundation truck... which they havent recieved yet

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Given the largely positive feedback so far from people using it how can you justify this statement apart from purely ignorance?
  16. B

    Cybertruck Waiting Room - Australia

apparently it's not regular steel. will be interesting to see in reality what it's like but i dont think you can really say regular paint is any better at avoiding scratches
  17. B

    Cybertruck Waiting Room - Australia

Don’t high sides significantly improve efficiency? I heard in one of the recent interviews with the opening lowered range is very significantly improved. It was almost 10 percent higher. First step to understanding most things Tesla does comes back to efficiency of operation and manufacturing...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I drive my car on city roads and highways and I have never experienced "phantom" breaking in the first 10000km. To clarify phantom implies that there was no reason for breaking. The car will break suddenly if a stationary object passes through its intended path, even if the obstruction is a...

  22. B

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Although there are some people who have been very unlucky I think shipping situation is slowly improving and there shouldnt be any more covid interruptions in china. I would expect to get your car early July. If you're lucky in June.

LFP battery - how often is too often to charge?

You probably dont understand how low you need to keep charge state to have a meaningful effect on the battery health. If charging to 100% doesnt reduce your enjoyment of the car, can you explain how optimising battery degredation does?
  24. B

LFP battery - how often is too often to charge?

I charge my car to 100 every time I plug it in. I never worry about range. I don’t need to optimize battery health. I enjoy my car. There is no evidence that you’re going to be able to prevent the eventual end point degradation, you’re maybe slowing it for a severe negative which is greatly...

What components in a Tesla are made from fossil fuels?

The problem is that ICE folk often use it as misinformation that the EV build process somehow is worse than the lifetime emissions of the car. Important to give the people that ask a sanity check and show them the stats.

Describe your initial impressions upon new delivery of 2023 Model Y

The suspension has been upgraded many times and it's been refered by "new comfort suspension" at least twice now.

What components in a Tesla are made from fossil fuels?

That’s lifetime co2. I was just looking at the manufactuing which was op question.

What components in a Tesla are made from fossil fuels?

You're throwing around a bit of mis-information. I've directly cited teslas impact statement which answers your question. You just need to read it. Their impact statement explains that fossil use is upstream from tesla in material refinement, which they need to bring inhouse eventually. This...

    Model Y RWD sound system

I think if you or your wife is not sure about buying a tesla you should book a test drive. Most love it but there are a few people who it doesnt fit with.
  32. B

    2019 SR+ to 2023 LR comparison

2021 RWD and 2022+ RWD are very different. There were multiple revisions of suspension and it's a different battery now as well? I have a late 2022 RWD and it's extremely agile, more than I need. I cant justify the extra cost of the LR. The RWD is also slighty more energy efficient. I think both...

Reversing issues in new MYP = accident

The guide lines seemed off to me when I first purchased but I've adjusted to it (probably just ignore them to some degree) A whole concrete floor to ceiling pillar being not visible in the rear camera is basically impossible in my experience. Probably more to do with you not being used to the...

Does using supercharger actually save money for a road trip compared to petrol?

As others have pointed out there are many flaws with your opinion. One being that tesla only charges for power delivered into your battery. Others have also noted that the slight difference in cost is not normally a determinant of whether they use a supercharger. You're paying more for...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Yep. It can sometimes be a bit late. I dont use autopilot unless im on a long freeway trip. Never had any phantom breaking though. Regardless, best car I've ever driven. RWD is an excellent option with great range and is one of the most efficient EVs in the world.
  36. B

Real world Model Y RWD efficiency

My model 3 has gone down to 80-100 kwh/100km during slower city driving. crazy cars.
  37. B

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Whichever news you think said this is likely to be innaccurate and I wouldnt repeat it. Rumors like this happen daily and when there is an update we find out after the event - such as the suspension upgrade for model Y in jan.
  38. B

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Exactly my experience. 2000km in and still a joy to drive. One thing I initially didnt realise was that I could go way higher up in my seat position which helps a lot with the viewing angles.

Leak on major upcoming Tesla announcement

Teslas are always incrementally upgrading, sometimes the upgrades may have already been implemented before being reported on. Usually there are upgrades happening whilst you wait for your order. I dont think the minor stuff being reported here makes any difference to the overall function...

    Model 3 steering wheel stalks

This is normal. Have a look at some model 3 reviews on youtube and you will see that they are not always mm perfect equal. IMO you need to lift your threshold for tolerances up a bit. You have a great car and it's time to enjoy it and forget about the bs you hear in the news.

Chill mode power reduction for Tesla Model Y 2022 RWD.

I feel it just makes the response to pedal input a bit more smooth. even in the base model 3 rwd i prefer chill mode

Furthermore tesla will just be doing internal testing. There is no way we will be getting austin made model Y

LFP battery - how often is too often to charge?

I would just follow the tesla recommendations. If you look at the links that others have posted keeping lfp at 85% compared to 100% is basically no difference (~0-2%). Between 20-60% seemed to be a slight benefit ~2%. Furthermore, wouldn't degradation eventually plateau to the same point in...

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

Elon has already said ap 3.0 is sufficient for FSD but 4.0 will be safer. If you read the twitter thread in detail the main hardware is the same just more cameras and some parts have extra redundancy if they dont work. Time will tell if any of that is true

https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_jo/GUID-7FE78D73-0A17-47C4-B21B-54F641FFAEF4.html Set the charge limit to 100% and charge as much as you want. Make sure it goes to 100 at least once a week.
