FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Interesting you say this. I find merging has been quite good these days. Everyday on my way home from work I have this specific use case. Bumber to bumper traffic on the highway and as I enter using the on ramp it has done a pretty good job at finding a slot to merge. The traffic I am merging in...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I had the exact same experience a few days ago . Was very surprised by the behavior. On the flip side, I had something similar where traffic was backed up and was impeding on a traffic light. The car stopped to ensure it would not contribute to a potential grid lock, but when the traffic started...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Probably the more important update to FSD to date. Even bigger than initial release of V12. It has the potential to prove if Tesla has “Solved” FSD with the new framework built on AI. In theory this should be a multi-step forward improvement. It won’t be perfect, and I’m not trying to hype...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

It's definitely a bad idea to let your L2 system drive in conditions you wouldn't feel confident taking over. So it's a good thing I was confident in taking over........if needed...;)

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I had the same experience driving from Iowa to Texas. Torrential downpours so bad I could barely see the car ahead of me. FSD worked vey well even with the degraded messages. If it weren’t for FSD, I would have pulled over and waited it out.

Are Teslas talking to each other?

security is definetly important, but I would think this is obtainable. We have major dependencies on aviation and they have figured out how to maintained a high level of security. You could argue that Tesla’s own environment roday, if compromised, could do some major damage.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I know, I know. Elon likes to hype up every release. But with this new approach on FSD( AI) I think these releases are going to provide significant improvements and at a much faster pace. like Ashok said think Tesla has “Solved” FSD and it may very well be the beginning of the end. Now they...

Are Teslas talking to each other?

I’ve thought about this concept as well. As more and more cars start to leverage FSD capabilities I would think we could solve some major issues like traffic jams, accidents, etc by understanding and adjusting how the car drives and responds based on increased awareness and partnership with...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Did 12.4 roll out to employees yet? I thought I read that somewhere but now can’t find the source. Must be my old age kicking in.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I have a 2023 M3LR without USS. I received 12.3.5 early in the the deployment cycle and have yet to receive 12.3.6. I usually get updates earlier in the process. I did have some unusual behavior yesterday. When I left for work and tried to engaged FSD it wouldn’t allow me. After a few mins I...

    Uhh.. what’s a Shill??
  12. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

why does the car need to have any visualizations at all? Other than the standard map and path is planning to take? I rarely look at it anyway. And it doesn’t affect my ability to supervise the car. Would gladly give it up for more compute power if that is indeed taking up resources.
  13. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Has anyone in the legacy FSD beta group receive 12.3.5?
  14. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I’m starting to think the profiles are all the same. It goes hand in hand with automax speed. I think Tesla is shifting toward an autonomous experience where they can have more control.
  15. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I seem to recall Elon saying there would be significant updates to V12 in both March and April. Does anyone know what was expected in April?
  16. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Interesting. What’s the difference in how other OEMs track attentiveness? Btw.. Not challenging your response,, I’m just not educated enough to understand it. 😉

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I was watching the latest TMC Podcast and @SteelClouds mentioned that even though Highway driving is still on 11 code that he noticed improvements. I agree with this statement. Even though the code is still on V11 doesn’t necessarily mean that Tesla has frozen all enhancements to it. Lane...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Some of the issues Chuck has highlighted I’ve had in 12.3.3 so I’m not so sure it’s a regression but more likely inconsistent behavior. I think you really need to put a considerable amount of driving time in to uncover version specific behavior especially if the changes are subtle.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Speaking of Strips Club(although I like to called them “Gentlemen’s Clubs”), Interesting that I have ZERO interventions, Zero Wheel nags, and ZERO issues with AutoMax driving like a 80yr old when the destination is the aforementioned. I think I’ve discovered how to unlock Elon Mode!!!
  20. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Man…v12 is growing on me. Interventions are becoming few and far between. Many trips with no interventions. Starting to feel good about my upfront investment on FSD.
  21. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

With V12 going out to the masses this will most likely become a common occurrence. Most of the beta users have had time to adjust to the 5 strike process. I also think the chance of reducing wheel nags anytime soon is now off the table.
  22. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Just took 12.3.3 for test drive. Auto max speed is much better than 12.3.2.1.. Only drove 20 mins or so but can tell there was a significant improvement. The laundry list of issues is definitely getting smaller and smaller. The biggest issue I have now is sometimes when turning the car...

    And the conspiracy continues.
  24. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Just did the same thing and sure enough it was there and is now downloading.
  25. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

After driving a bit more on 12.3.2.1 it does look like auto max is slightly better. I still find it on the slow side but it’s tolerable. I didn notice the abrupt slow down for yellow lights. Hopefully they will tweak that as it does seem a bit extreme. Auto park is ok but feel it can be a...
  26. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

We must have driven the same route. I had a very similar experience. Except my parking attempt was like a 3 point turn. Successful but not pretty. No interventions but Auto max is still not great. I really didn’t notice much of a change from 12.3. Will have to do some more driving to confirm.
  27. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Hmm. Didn’t know Bruce Willis was in TBoRB?
  28. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

It’s not all bad news. Look at it this way. You’re famous now. You made the Release notes!🤣
  29. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I think it’s more granular than that. Just looked at release notes and it specifically says this update will not go out to Ramphex. Bummer. 😢
  30. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Getting 24.3.6 right now. Looks like it’s going out to the beta folks.
  31. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I’ve been thinking about this Auto Max speed feature and also thinking about how well 12.3 has been handling lane changes on city streets. This may be a trivial association for some, but for me the light bulb finally went off in my little brain(along with some smoke). And I came to the...
  32. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I knew it was good when my wife noticed it. And she absolutely hates FSD. Wife approval is the holy grail of FSD acceptance.

    Elon: FSD Beta tweets

Consistently parking at the conclusion of a drive would be awesome! If smart summon is around the corner I would think FSD could incorporate that capability in to an overall drive?
  34. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I have. Or at least it was close enough that it made me feel uncomfortable. This was in my development where roads are narrow and there was an Amazon Truck on one side of the street and a parked car on the other side. The car slowed down quite a bit and folded the mirrors.
  35. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Although I’ve found auto speed too slow, I would agree that it has been more than acceptable in dense residential areas. I live it a fairly large community where there is a lot of outdoor activity(children playing, people riding bikes, etc.) so I would rather keep it on the slow side. The speed...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

lol. There is verbiage in the message. It just disappears so fast I can’t read it. It will pop up 5 or six times quickly then goes away.
  37. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

man… 12.3 is REALLY good. Yes there are some issues like auto max speed but overall this is a significant improvement. The only interventions I have now are speed related and even those are tolerable. I have had many drives now where there have been zero interventions. I’ve also seen...
  38. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

The early signaling is a welcome change. However, there are some edge cases where early signaling is not appropriate. For example there may be another close turn prior to the intended turn that might cause confusion for other drivers traveling behind you. I think they just need to tweak the...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Once the max speed issue is addressed in 12.3.1, you can queue the FSD subscription price increase in 3…2…1
  40. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

First drive impressions. The drive was performed with Auto speed enable using average mode . Overall a significant improvement over v11. The overall feel of the drive was definitely smoother and more human like. The Auto speed seemed to keep the car in line with traffic however I felt it was a...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Not sure. It could have been sometime in middle of night. I went in to app and it popped up for me to download and install 15mins before I posted
  42. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

    12.3 installing now. I have a 23 M3 HW3 in TX. Definitely going wide.
  43. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Yup. I know. Which is why I’m ok with Tesla putting some restrictions unplaced. Ford allows you to initiate the lane change by using your blinker. The car then waits for it to be safe to change lanes and it WILL move from one lane to another without driver assistance.
  44. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

If that’s the reason then why not put some restrictions on it? Ford does have lane change assist feature which isn’t exactly at will but still functional. I would have no issue with Tesla implementing some restrictions on the highway for a more hands off experience.
  45. J

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I have this same question and mentioned it in the V11 thread a few months back. My son has a MachE and he is able to drive pretty much hands free on the highways. Even if the reason Tesla is not allowing full use of the cabin camera because of FSD city street driving, why not just allow hands...

    FSD Beta v11.x

Yea I have state farm and my score looks exactly the same and I’m still on 11.4.7.3. I live in an area of TX where city streets have high speed limits with many lights so the car loves to be at 55mph pretty much all the way up to the light then it slams the brakes on. Same when the light turns...

    FSD Beta v11.x

I wonder if tinting the windshield helps to reduce dry wiping events? I have a 23M3LR with a clear tint on the windshield to reduce UV and have no issues at all. Once in a blue moon I’ll get a wipe but very rare and does not comitnue.
  48. J

    FSD Beta v11.x

Having been in this situation myself it’s more about the quick response especially when traveling at high speeds. Looks like two things happened here, a quick deceleration plus quick but slight turn to the right. Both done at same time was enough to avoid the deer. Hard to appreciate what FSD...

    FSD Beta v11.x

Well I must have scared the Tesla Gods into submission. Just got the map updates. Going to take it for a spin and see if there is any improvement.
  50. J

    FSD Beta v11.x

Jeez why is it taking so long for Tesla to push the NAVI updates!! I’m convinced the turning lane drift is directly related to this. It’s my biggest issue right now with FSD
