Took everything apart. Cleaned, applied lube. Per instructions, moved the glass to rearmost position and then close it. It makes "cracking" noises when moving. Coming from the left motor. Seems like motor "jumps" a turn or how to explain it. It does open and close thou. I applied extra grease...

I also have issues connecting via toolbox3. It fails at error “traffic to odin blocked”. I tried several times and it worked one time, so no idea what is going on. I have mcu 1. Any ideas?

So finally fixes this. Installation is rather smooth once you know what to do exactly via trian n error :/ Now the roof opens but not all the way. Venting is fine but eveything else not. It starts to open and after a few inches it slightly moves forward and stays there. After it can be closed...

Gotcha now, I was thinking the other way around :) so when there is enough "air" to cool the central radiator there is no need for AC to help cool it down, but when supercharing the air is not enough and AC kicks in at cools the radiator, therefore side louvers should open?

Can I see the pressure in smt? And whats a normal value? Next to the warning there is an icon to click on and it opens manual, where its explained that it is normal when doing SuC.

My best guess would be...if the battery/motor/inverter? cooling is needed, the center radiator's flaps would open and side louvers close to get the max flow from the center radiator? if AC gas needs cooling the side louvers would open and center flaps close to get the max airflow throw side...

So the side lovers have nothing to do with cooling the battery? Actually if they are opened the air pull from middle radiator would be less strong?

Hmmm....but arent these louvers opened always when car is supercharging? the middle radiator is there only for the motors? it does not have a fan and is cooled only via air that flows throw it? sorry, im a bit confused on how the whole system works...

So...summer is here and higher temps. As I still did not manage to fix the louvers, Im thinking if it would perhaps be "good" to just remove them and leave access to radiators open for a few days, surely this is better than whole system overheating?

Yea I know :) but why would it be important to do so? Its another thing to work on somethink like pumps that “might” turn on, but how can work on panoramic roof be compromised with active 12v?

Toolbox v2 works, but you need a "special" version, some people even charge for it - bastards. Once installed, you still need the online sub but then it works fine.

hm, I dont think you need to disconnect the high voltage battery. It is for safety, but its very unlikely anything will go wrong?

The "louvre angle fix" is not available in the new toolbox anymore. you need the toolbox 2 for it. if all louvers move i see no point in replacing them, but to fix them as described in this thread.

Just dig in, ita not that hard if you are at least a semi mechanic guy. Just bear in mind. You have a v1 sunroof, right? Tesla does not sell parts for it, and you might need a second hand one if ita available at all. But maybe some parts from v2 also fits on v1?

I dont have this component installed next to the motor, but my best guess its the premium amplifier, correct? It needs to be removed first to access the motor, follow this: Model S Service Manual | Tesla step 8.

One more question, if I am somehow unable to repair the current louver is it safe to not install it back while waiting for new part - to preserve some time for future repairs, or shall I install it back in to protect the radiator which would otherwise be exposed to dirt/debris?

Hmm...so I was about to remove my front bumper to access the louvers, but one of the 10mm bolt is stucked so I aborted and have to visit my mechanic friend to see if he can remove it. Anyhow, was browsing the internet to get a better idea on how to remove the bumper and found this video...

Let me elaborate... Mainly two things can go wrong with the sunroof, or mostly just one. Roof is "stucked", not because of faulty motors (which can happen thou) but because it was not maintained properly and now it wont slide the way it should. So first establish if roof can move freely by...

I would suggest to remove the motors and see if you can move the roof by hand

Like a grinding noise? did it work earlier and then stopped? Might be the sunroof is blocked and gringing noise means motors try to open, but cannot.

Finally able to take this apart. Everything was smooth (just time consuming) but somehow the "hole" in the cable got broken (either from removing the Link from it or some old damange), this part: Broken looks like this: It should be like this: This part of the Link goes into this...

tbh, OP could just decline those "unneeded" repairs and only accept the work on suspension. As someone said, its a luxury model and maybe service center decided its time to replace the brakes as they might be worn out - not completely, but close to it? and as they are working on the suspension...

There is time when lubing wont help, not saying this is your case, but it might be time to just replace it. Mine was rusted to the point of no return :)
