For me it was the opposite. I had my delivery location determined first then the VIN came right after. I originally was told that when a delivery location is determined, that’s usually a good sign that you’ll be getting a VIN shortly. Doesn’t seem to be the case based on your situation...

I received my VIN in the afternoon (around 5PM PST)

One of the prices you pay right now for "early" delivery. But the same maybe could be said if the factory keep building yet no deliveries are happening.

So just got an update from my sales advisor. The firmware is still not available but apparently its within their internal notes that its targeted to release tomorrow. So tentatively, deliveries may start tomorrow depending the time the firmware is available. But to be safe, deliveries are pushed...

Wow orders from last week getting VINs! At least on the tracker, all orders currently with VINs are either release day orders or switchovers from LR/SR.

The “June” estimate is to get customers to commit to the $250 reservation. Everyone who’s been following the M3P saga knows that orders today will likely have deliveries happen beyond that.

Could maybe mean that you’re getting a VIN soon? Hence why you can’t edit.

Either we create a separate sticky thread just for the tracker or I wonder if there is a way to keep a post that includes the tracker link at the top of every page of this thread.

SA just called me again with another update. It looks like the the EPA delay gets lifted within this weekend. This matches with others who had their deliveries delayed to this weekend. So I'm tentatively set for delivery this weekend or early next week.

So I just received a call from Tesla and initially, the conversation started with the sales advisor informing me that all things were good to go for my delivery tomorrow. Halfway into the conversation, I can hear the sales advisor typing on the computer and then he alerts me of the dreaded news...

Sometimes it might take a little time (few days?) for the EDD to get updated because of a config change. I've seen this happen before. So if these July EDD folks are expecting for an quick change of EDD, it may not happen right away.

Any concerns with not being able to identify any issues of the car before the shop takes it when going there directly from delivery? My hunch is that since Tesla finally started to fulfill delayed LR/SR white interior orders around the same time the M3P released, Tesla decided to also sprinkle...

I'm doing PPF on the full front end along with the rockers. For the folks doing or have done PPF, how soon do you guys get it done after delivery? I've seen people take their car directly from delivery to the shop for PPF. I can understand the logic of wanting to get it done sooner than later...

VIN should hopefully come soon enough. Previous LR order, west coast delivery, white interior...has all the criteria for a delivery sooner than later!

I edited my comment since I can see why it was confusing. I meant that the delays for SR/LR deliveries were primarily related to the white interior. I figure its a blessing in a disguise for some since their SR/LR orders were delayed long enough for them to switchover to the M3P.

Looking at the M3P tracker (133 entries currently), it looks like there is <8% that were originally an SR/LR order but switched to performance. Most of the early orders back in Jan that switched are white interior which we all know is the reason for the LR/SR delays.
