Lots of people, myself included, have already taken delivery of post-3/1 built Model Xs. No ambient lighting or front bumper cams. That doesn’t mean they won’t come any day now, but it has nothing to do with 3/1 build dates. That much we do know for sure.

My understanding is that the Month and Year it was built are listed on the sticker on the driver's door jamb, but it doesn't provide the day. I asked Tesla through the app for the build date and they sent it to me within 24 hours.

Further update: was just told my Model X was built on 3/6. I won’t hold my breath re: updates. Does this mean my VIN was likely rejected by one of you guys already? Haha.

Update: finally contacted today with a VIN assignment and asking me to confirm that I understand no USS so no Autopark/Summon until Vision is squared away. EDD updated to 3/16 - 3/25. YES! Who should I contact re: build date? I wasn't working with a sales associate.

Thanks for sharing! Yes, the “Tax Edition” just means the base configuration that keeps the MSRP for the vehicle under $80k and thus eligible for the tax incentive (regardless of whether the particular buyer will qualify). ;)

Sorry if you already said, but what configuration did you order? It seems like folks ordering the Tax Edition are waiting much longer to get VINs than everyone else.

They used to say the cameras looked different (reddish tint and less angled). But is there really any doubt? Haven’t all Model Xs built in the last few months been HW4?

Gotcha. FWIW, my wife’s 2023 Model 3 LR with EAP does not have USS sensors or a front cam. Teslavision is crap still, but it does “sort of” detect front obstacles when parking. But her autopark and smart summon is still totally unavailable.

I hope I’m wrong, but that claim and pic was from a year ago (Feb 2023) and I believe it was debunked already. Teslascope’s replies for that Twitter post acknowledged needing to vet things better in the future.

By “non-functional” do you mean the doors won’t open fully and autopark/smart summon won’t be available yet? Or are there other things that you have in mind that won’t function properly?

If you asked about build date and this is the response you got, I would call that a “non-answer.” If it were me, I would write back and ask (a) what the build date is for my vehicle and (b) what does “hard match” mean.

You never know. But I ordered five days before you and my EDD already changed to 3/17-4/21. So my guess would be it is more likely yours will arrive in April.
