Just want to add and point that people losing traction on their brand new cars/wheels can also be down to brand new tires. Folks should be careful in the first 100 miles until they are scrubbed in.

I would absolutely get confirmation from your SA on this, as this information conflicts with what other people have been told about how long they will hold a car for.

They should just have it displayed on screen, there's no point it being printed out :)

That's not true. The two I go to Mt. Kisco in NY and Millford, CT do not.

Don't get me started on that. I took delivery of my 2023 M3P in NY on Dec 30th and it had summer tires. It should be illegal to deliver vehicles with summer tires in the winter in most states :( The MYP comes with all-seasons.

Did you check the vechicle details page? You don't see the VIN on that main screen.

It's probably coincidence, but I was still waiting for my trade-in offer to come through, so I messaged them about it in app in the morning. Early afternoon the offer came in and I accepted it. That evening I received a VIN.

You should definitely try properly bedding in the brakes. Lots of videos out there. Really you should do this with any motor vehicle.

It was 10 hours after getting my VIN in the app that I received a text. Good luck not constantly refreshing the app after learning this :)

My concern about not taking delivery sooner is that the 2nd hand market for M3P is going to become saturated with people trading them in and the values will drop. I've already seen my 2023 go from $42,100 on Mar 29th to $37,700 today. That's a bitter pill to swallow.

That's my understanding. That's why they are reminding you and why people on here say to leave it as cash till you have a VIN and get ready to move on the credit application, unless you want multiple hard credit pulls, in which case select financing.

Set it to cash and switch it once you have a VIN.

Not sure we need more discussion on this, but there is the possibility that this is an employee and they are ok delivering it to an employee without the updated firmware. In 2017 they did deliver the new 3 to employees first. Total speculation of course.

It's already been stated here that the EPA number is used in the car software to display the range. They were waiting for that to update the software to then push to cars awaiting delivery.

Actually no, Tesla does not ship cars with the latest software. They usually on an older 'stable' build and they don't usually get updated to the latest stack till a few weeks after delivery.

2.61s I'm also comparing to a Model S on a drag strip. I figured I'd look at 65-95 as he's already gaining speed by that point. It's a little disappointing as I measure the M3P at 2.88s and a 2022 S LR at 2.45s. I was hoping it would be a bit closer, or even quicker. Granted it's still quicker...

Pulled the video in to my video editing software and I count that as 3.28s 60-95mph.

Believe hardware 4 has a red appearance to it when you look in the lens. Like that. My 2023 M3P has hardware 4 too.

That's not Chrome trim... Tesla sometimes (it seems inconsistent) ships the cars with the white protective stuff on the black trim and door handles.
