Terrible service experience, why my 2023 Model S is a regrettable purchase

I’m in the same boat. I have a track packed MSP and I love it but I probably won’t buy another Tesla again. Just 2 years ago if you would’ve asked me I’d probably tell you the only thing I’d ever buy again would be a Tesla but here we are. I had the tire wear issue which was fixed with...

I want to sue Santa Clara Tesla Service center for damaging my vehicle

As a general rule temper your expectations when it comes to involvement of consumer agencies from the state. If you want results be prepared to be your own best advocate. No one else, including consumer agencies, will advocate for you like you will so you need to be willing to put in the...

    Powerwalls ignoring settings

The solar came with the house which was bought new December 2022. The batteries we purchased after from Sunnova and were installed in July 2023. Long story but they undersized the initial backup loads panel installation (which should have been whole home backup). They finally corrected it and a...

    Powerwalls ignoring settings

It was installed last July. The solar array is a "compliance" installation in CA. It's a new house and it's the bare minimum that the builder installed to meet state requirements for new builds. The batteries came after the solar. I live where they have probably the lowest electric rates in...

    Powerwalls ignoring settings

I have 2 of Powerwall 2 (I believe plus version) installed with an existing small solar array (3.3 kW). For the most part the Powerwalls were installed to have peace of mind if there was an outage. It seems that whatever settings are being completely ignored and if anything, the batteries are...

Supercharger - Arnold, CA (LIVE, 8 V3 stalls)

At this point Mohammed from accounting or William from HR will be expected to do it. Isn’t that what they did at Xitter when they fired everyone? Random guy roaming the building got called on to fix problems when they fired everyone..

Supercharger - San Jose, CA - Bernal Road (under construction Jan 2024, 32 stalls)

It’s called a bus duct entrance termination unit and it’s used on larger transformers like this one which in this case supplies power to the 4000 A service used by Tesla. It’s just for a direct transition to Tesla’s bus duct from the transformer. It makes it much easier for a transformer upgrade...

Supercharger - East Palo Alto, CA - 1700 East Bayshore Road (LIVE 9 Apr 2024, 20 V3 stalls)

Yea if you follow the signs it will take you through the entire garage and you’ll likely end up on the north side which is inefficient. I second this suggestion. I showed up on a busy Saturday and it was a madhouse. Surprisingly no stalls were ICEd even though it seemed many were tempted due to...

    Supercharger - West Hollywood, CA (LIVE 2 Sep 2022, 8 V3 stalls)

That’s funny! I was waiting inside my idling car for my friend to quickly grab money from the ATM at Vine and Sunset. I wasn’t blocking the bus stop but I was definitely on red. Just like you, the parking enforcement people saw me from across the street. I took off after like a minute when...

    Wall connector amp setting

Even at 55 A it wouldn't trip immediately. Depending on ambient conditions and other circuit components, it could take minutes to trip.

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

This is what’s in the pipeline. I’m confused that you’d think this is a slowdown.

    Supercharger - West Hollywood, CA (LIVE 2 Sep 2022, 8 V3 stalls)

I’ve lived in West Hollywood and any long time resident will tell you, their parking enforcement is aggressive. Especially late into the night, they are really out on the prowl.

Supercharger - Buellton, CA (temporary closure)

It will be getting a new transformer. The existing transformer won’t be enough for 16 V3 stalls.

Expired 4 Tesla power walls and 2 inverters [Expired]

I second that. Back in 2022 I sold my house with solar and 2 Powerwalls. The solar was about 6 years old and I paid 12k after federal tax credits. The Powerwalls I decided to add about 2 years after the solar and were actually unbelievably free due to state incentives. When I listed the house...

    Supercharger - Milpitas, CA - 20 S Abbott Ave (under construction 21 Feb 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Didn't realize that part of Milpitas was in a flood zone but I charged at this charger in the Florida Keys and it looks like there it might be elevated due to storm or hurricane surge prone area.

    Supercharger - Soda Springs, CA (LIVE 8 Dec 2023, 12 V3 stalls)

There is no grid issue here. The power coming to here and loading is just fine going back at least two months. It’s 1200 A switchgear which is plenty for the 12 stalls there as well as properly sized for the transformer there. If your car is asking for a max of 50 kW or 75 kW here then that’s...

    California Supercharger Locations FAQ

When considering a lot of sites that most see as just “sitting there”, there’s a lot of pitchforks here in the forum lately for PG&E and understandably so. While there are other factors and equipment that can delay completion of a site and the ultimate go-live, this is the most talked about...

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

I wasn’t referring to Magic Docks. I was referring to Ford today enabling supercharging on most V3s with an adapter.

    Supercharger - San Mateo, CA - 2817 S. El Camino Real (LIVE 25 Mar 2024, 12 V3 stalls)

The transformer here will be dedicated solely for the superchargers: no sharing here. There’s a couple out there where the business attached will share the transformer but it’s likely because the business and the superchargers were planned and built simultaneously: Modesto - Joyce Ave, Ripon...

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

2024.2.7 After did the track pack config I didn’t notice anything special with the software versions. To me I think it’s like iOS where 17.3.1 etc will cover many models of iPhones, there’s no special version for a 15 Pro Max.

Supercharger - Lost Hills, CA - Highway 46E (permit applied)

Every holiday is still full in the area, albeit with short waits unlike in years past. However, the onslaught of non-Teslas is also coming so you can never have enough.

Supercharger - Sonora, CA (under construction Feb 2024)

With this next “clue” 🙄, assuming it’s the one on Stockton St. it should be 8 V3s

Supercharger - Sonora, CA (under construction Feb 2024)

You must be new here. This isn’t Clue, lol. If you’re going to be dropping all these hints, a photo or an address will do wonders for your street cred here 😉

Nice! That came out of nowhere.

Supercharger - Escondido, CA - Mission Escondido Shopping Center (under construction, 20 V3 stalls)

Probably a PMI (pad mounted interrupter). Most but not all utilities install them upstream of the transformer. It seems the backlog on transformers has eased up but now a lot of sites are waiting for these switches.

reliable/reputable third party wheel alignment in San Jose, CA area

That's where I take mine for alignments, brakes, and suspension. They do a really good job.

Supercharger - Bakersfield, CA - Camino Del Rio Ct (LIVE 22 Dec 2023, 20 V3 stalls)

There's something in the works there but we'll have to start a new thread for that at some point.

spare tire for Plaid track package

Model Y and X wheels are not interchangeable since they have different bolt patterns. Also, the Model X and Y tire diameter and load rating needs are both different. You won’t be able to have a spare to safely work with both.
  34. 1

Supercharger - Sacramento, CA - Delta Shores (under construction Feb 2024, 28 V4 stalls)

It's a setup for future expansion. The 4000 A switchgear Tesla will use here can support about 40 stalls. It's uncommon for "smaller" utilities like SMUD here to use 3325 kVA transformers. 3325 kVA transformers are made to match 4000 A switchgear but mostly SCE, PG&E, and LADWP are using these...
  35. 1

Supercharger - Mountain View, CA - Grant Rd (under construction, 32 stalls)

A single 3325 kVA transformer is in the works there. That's good for up to 40 V3s. The other pad is for the utility pad mounted interrupters.

What are your home electricity rates?

I have solar rate with one of the CA irrigation districts (water and power): $.065/ kWh off peak, $0.105/ kWh on peak. Once you add grid connection charge, demand charge, government taxes and misc below the line fees, average out-the-door-price I pay is $0.165 per kWh. This is winter rates...

Supercharger - Hollywood, CA (under construction Sep 2023, 32 stalls + diner)

My $0.02 is that this site should be considered like the big Santa Monica site. They started at Santa Monica with a partial site (either 26 or 36 stalls first, don’t remember) and completed it. Then later the other adjacent site was completed and it is considered one large 62 stall site today...

Supercharger - Upland, CA (under construction Jan 2024, 64 V3 stalls)

They can do 9 or 10 cabinets per transformer based on the 4000 A switchgear that is the biggest Tesla is currently using. 9 cabinets (up to 36 stalls) leave some cushion on equipment capacity but 10 cabinets (up to 40 stalls) will max out the equipment but will still work.

Supercharger - Bakersfield, CA - Camino Del Rio Ct (LIVE 22 Dec 2023, 20 V3 stalls)

Got to use this supercharger a couple of times this week during a trip. Based on observations from the app and the times I was there, this place has been busy from day 1: mostly full with some waits but it seems to turn over fast. The performance at this charger with a properly preconditioned...

Supercharger - Dunnigan, CA (LIVE 24 Nov 2022, 8 V3 stalls, expansion in progress)

Could be as much as 68 more stalls coming here. I guess it will just depend on how much of the parking lot they're leasing.
  41. 1

Supercharger - San Juan Bautista, CA (location speculation)

Yes. That's exactly where they will be at: 8 V3s based on power coming to there. Not sure if construction has started though.

    Supercharger - Visalia, CA - Ave 280 (permit issued 12/21/23, 12 V3)

Can’t confirm if there’s construction here yet but as of yesterday the Bakersfield - Camino del Rio Ct supercharger is live.

Supercharger - Hollywood, CA (under construction Sep 2023, 32 stalls + diner)

With their first ever supercharger coming to the great city of Los Angeles I’m sure they’ll have a lot of lessons learned here.
