I have a 22 LR X and a 22 LR Y. I have put about 20K miles on each. I would have to disagree with you, the X is substantially bigger and smoother than the Y. I think the Y is good, but it is not as good as the X. The differences are consistent with the price difference.

FYI: Pressing the emergency release on the inside of the frunk closes it. So I can use the app to open and the button to close. Also, the optional key fob opens and closes the frunk.
