About to receive a used MX 2018 Long Range - experiences about the real range?

I also have a 2017 LR X. I have driven it 75K miles. It also has been very good. In fact, I bought the other 2 because of my positive experience with this car. I am sure the models between those years are also good. I think how the previous owner took care of the car would be a most important...

About to receive a used MX 2018 Long Range - experiences about the real range?

I have a 22 LR X and a 22 LR Y. I have put about 20K miles on each. I would have to disagree with you, the X is substantially bigger and smoother than the Y. I think the Y is good, but it is not as good as the X. The differences are consistent with the price difference.

About to receive a used MX 2018 Long Range - experiences about the real range?

I only purchased EAP, and I do have the MCU upgrade. In addition, at the moment I am in the middle of the 30 day free trial FSD. My software version is currently 2024.14.7. Don't ask me how FSD performs on this car - I am in another state at the moment and will have missed the entire 30 day...

Does anyone have rear brakes frozen when first moving after hours parked?

Sounds like it's related to your frequent car washing... I get the same thing for a mile of driving after washing the car. I had water get into charge port electronics and rust them. Tech said it was due to high pressure car wash nozzles spraying at charger door... I try to wash by hand or go...

About to receive a used MX 2018 Long Range - experiences about the real range?

For normal driving, suspension will be very similar to today's cars... you just don't have the ability to manually set damping and rebound variables on screen. Key fob works great, driver door opens upon approach. You can also use app from phone to do everything (except unlock car automatically...

    Help adjusting coilovers

1st, drive suspension for ~1000 miles, making adjustments as needed. Then confirm it is level. Fnally, take it in for alignment (with 300 lbs of weight in driver/passenger seats as per spec). At the end of process, it felt pretty solid, less squirmy...

    Help adjusting coilovers

Measuring tape, in combination with level that is up against battery. The spec says +/- 5mm... (3/16") so, you should be able to measure within that accuracy.

    Help adjusting coilovers

When leveling, focus on the bottom of the battery pack, near the lift points, instead of the fenders. The goal is to minimize torsional stresses on the car's frame. I got my 4 corners within 3 mm from each other. If you look at the owner's manual for China MY, you can see height specs and...

MXLR or inventory MXP with repairs

probably not... I did not find anything that says the suspension system is different. The only difference pertains to weight and or beefier components to handle the additional horsepower.

Model X suspension is a waste

I have an a 2022 X LR, and just recently had to take it in for service. They provided me a 2022 S LR loaner and was quite surprised to find the ride worse or, at best, equal to the X. I was also surprised that it had more wind noise than the X. Both cars have ~25,000 miles, so similar wear /...

    2022 Model X Range

I thought you posed an interesting question. So I did a little research, my conclusion is that rate of battery discharge is just as important as rate of charge in terms of how a battery degrades. The issues relate to thermal expansion and contraction of the cells; as well as the number of full...

    2022 Model X Range

That's 94% of new. I have an 2022 LR with 20K miles and it's at 99% of new, easy driving, mostly charged at home. So, in my opinion, you do look a little low... maybe some hard driving?

Is it really super dangerous to go over the 120pound weight limit of the stock tow hitch? I’m about 30-50 pounds over.

It's safe, until it isn't... meaning the problem is not a partial failure, but rather a complete failure/collapse with your stuff either flying down the freeway and hitting other cars -or- remaining attached to your car but being dragged and ruined. If you insist on taking this risk, then at...

Difficult choice on 2 used model x!

What does Edmund.com say? In terms of financial value... 2018 with 42K miles vs 2019 with 72K miles... both same computers? Consider remaining time & miles left on battery / motor warranty. Otherwise, miles on chassis is more important than model year...

What amount of vibration is “normal?”

One is 2017 and the other is a refresh - 2022. I am suggesting a rotating part in the drivetrain (including motors, shafts, disk brake rotors, etc...) What amount of vibration is “normal?”

I have two Xs and both are very smooth. I will get a slight vibration in the steering wheel which is solved by rebalancing the tires. There is a possibility that your wheel assembly / hub is out of balance... I have seen this in other cars. This is supposedly checked at time of car...

Can an alignment fix X rear camber issue

My X tires last 30,000 miles (I am on my 3rd set), Yes they do wear out 1st on the inside edge, but I estimate it shortens tire life by no more than 5000 miles. To some extent, this also impacts front tires also. (Yes, I have aligned, balanced and rotated my tires.) From a tire perspective, an...

    Armrest Cover, Cream Color wanted

    Punctured tire/question

Basically, others have said what needs to be said: 1) have a tire shop try to patch the hole (not just plug). 2) Must be inside the steel belt area (not near edge or sidewall). 3) General data says a blow out in rear is worse than front... but there are a lot of factors that...

    Hansshow Frunk 2021+/refresh

We probably can't give an opinion as we all bought only one kit... so no basis for comparison. My 2022 X is now 2 years old and has had the Hansshow frunk opener for most of that time. Except for initial installation problems, it has worked flawlessly. It does have a couple of unadvertised...

Rattle on new Model X FWD, wear observed on door latch.

Is outer edge of door aligned with the rest of the body? [Aftermarket] Power Frunk not closing from the Tesla App

    Strange (maybe normal) battery experience

I have a 2017 LR 100D with 20" wheels. I have 75,000 miles and my 80% is 220 miles (100% is 273 miles). So, your 80% at 216 is quite reasonable. In SoCal, on a full charge (100% down to about 10%), I get about 200 miles - specifically, I can go from Laguna Beach to Buttonwillow supercharger...

    Real world alignment specs

    Real world alignment specs

Actually, as I wanted same load carrying capacity and ride height, I did not replace the rear springs - just the shocks. So, my height of the battery plate was defined by the rear springs. My goal was to get the plate square at whatever height it was. The fronts were a complete coil and shock...
