After some research I have found that it’s not generally recommended to have a setup like this inside your attached garage because of fire risk. Since I don’t have any other place to put it I will just sell the car. (Btw I was pretty close on the value—Tesla offered $7500 as a trade in which I...
I’m thinking about transferring my free supercharging to a new MYP. I have a 2015 MS 85 with 170k miles and it’s running great however I’m looking at some maintenance coming up soon (brake pads and fluid, headlight going out, trunk latch acting up, one window regulator failing. And it’s just...
Ok so an odd issue. I replaced my volume scroll wheel assembly (left side of steering wheel) yesterday. I had a really hard time removing the entire airbag assembly because of what ended up being a “hidden” screw behind the steering wheel right side that wasn’t completely loosened. I ended up...
Random question—does everyone have the issue of broken visor mirror covers? I don’t even know when both of mine broke at the inner hinge. I opened the driver’s side one today and another tiny piece of plastic fell from it.
Similar situation for me. Several years of only supercharging on road trips but a few months ago a station was built 5 min from my work. So I’ll warm up my lunch and head over to plug in. My 75 mile round trip commute is easily covered in 30-40 min while I watch YouTube on the big screen and eat...
I must be in the minority here because I would love to have had this experience! I already know about the car so I don’t need someone to hold my hand. I can accept delivery in the app so why do I need to talk to someone about it? I’m sure if you had an issue you could have found someone. Enjoy...
Has anyone noticed how inaccurate the in-app routing is for our cars? I planned a 700 mile trip on my S85 and the same on one the wife’s MYP and the total time was 5 minutes longer in the S. I’ve consistently achieved 250kW supercharging on the Y. There’s just no way that time estimate is realistic.
My AP1 has always done this. It’s definitely a sloppy lane change compared to the new models. But at least our cars don’t swerve over when the lane widens momentarily because of merging onramp lanes etc like AP2+.
Which dash cams are you guys using for 24/7 recording? I bought a Viofo A139 and enabled parking mode but almost every time I get into the car I have to unplug and re-plug it to start it. I exchanged for a new one and it did the same thing.
I’m hoping our cars will get the feature the newer cars just recently got that enabled a chime on shifting. I find it useful in the wife’s MYP because you don’t need to look to make sure it shifted.
Thanks for this. I did some of the deeper reboots and the screens have stopped being delayed. But of course I still have the audio issue.
I guess it started with me mentioning my AP1 car software issues but it morphed into something fairly off topic.
I don’t have anything plugged in to the USB ports. No Waze running. I noticed that my trip A was at 25k miles so I reset that but no immediate effect was noted. 2023.2.12
Is my MCU2 failing? I am getting MCU1 failure vibes from my car. The audio will freeze for a second every few minutes. The speedometer is delayed and slow sometimes (goes from 50 to 60MPH displayed). There’s a 1-3 second delay to display and sound that autopilot has started. I’ve tried...
Nice. I have a 2015 S with 147k miles. I bought it with 48k just over 5 years ago. I’ve had to change the 12V 3 times, only once under warranty. I had $2k worth of suspension work done because of worn parts. It’s an amazing car and I want to keep it for many more years but tbh I’m a little...
New update—why would someone not want their car to auto present door handles at home? Not really getting the benefit there other than maybe less wear and tear on the handle if you keep walking by the car with the key on you.
Yes, same here. It’s still not working correctly. It’s getting pretty annoying because to change the channel or playlist it requires closing the top window, making the change, then opening the top window again (in my case backup camera).
Anyone still getting this? Even after updating to 2022.24.8 and rebooting, I have to close the backup camera window in order to look at songs in the playlists or else it will collapse back down automatically and immediately.
Anyone on MCU2 see a glitch after updating to 2022.24.5 where the top window can’t be dragged and set further up on the screen to expand out music options on the bottom of the screen? When I let go of it the bottom immediately collapses. I have to close the top window to access the playlist.
I’ve heard the new scroll wheels feel different in the newer S. Is it worth it to replace both left and right modules while I’m in there replacing the broken one? I’d rather not take it all apart again in a few months to replace the one that’s intact, so if there’s any longevity benefit I will...
You’re right, I don’t have any hard data, just what I’m hearing on the forums, Reddit and a few of my family members who got their 2014-2015 S batteries replaced.
If you don’t have the maps card corruption yet that will happen soon and costs around $250 to fix. For $1250 more you can upgrade to MCU2 and eliminate all of your issues. It’s like completely upgrading the computer on your computer on wheels.
2015 85 with 131k miles
Lol I guess I can reply to my own comment here. Apparently “vision only” autopilot is much more likely to phantom brake and throw FCWs as compared to radar on 2 lane highways. So that could be a reason I don’t see many newer Teslas using autopilot on that stretch of my commute.
I was ahead of a...
