    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

White interiors are showing a June delivery date on the order page while black interiors are showing July now. No idea if that means anything but the white interior at no up charge is a pretty nice perk at the moment, considering you have to go with gray if you want the tax credit.

Would you Purchase a model Y Again?

I’m sorry to hear that you are having such a bad experience with your Model Y. It sounds like it’s just not the right car for you. Every one of your concerns has been thoroughly discussed here and in many reviews and articles about the Model Y and EVs in general. You really have to research...

Would you Purchase a model Y Again?

I picked up a 2024 MYP in March during the end of Q1 promotion period for just under $40K. This included free FSD transfer, 5K supercharging miles, and a few other nice perks. The car has been flawless and super fun to drive. I still can’t believe a car at this level of performance could be...

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Great review. As for the stalks, I think some people get used to them pretty quickly and others find them frustrating. I’ve driven a Highland M3 a number of times and found it took me about 15 minutes to adapt to the turn signals. I still have to look down on the steering wheel to find the...

99% of the stuff Tesla advisors tells me is wrong. Yes they got it wrong.

Why buy a used Tesla vs leasing brand new one?

The RWD and LR AWD models at $299 and $399 are the more aggressive deals.
  7. O

Why buy a used Tesla vs leasing brand new one?

They do seem pretty aggressive. Do these prices already reflect the $7,500 tax credit? Why is the M3P twice the price of the base model? Seems out of proportion.

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Congratulations to everyone who got their M3Ps! Really looking forward to hearing about the ride quality and the suspension. I’ve gone on a few test drives of a Highland RWD M3 and thought the suspension was noticeably better than my 2024 MYP. But I’d like to hear how it compares to the M3P...

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Ah, that’s the missing piece of the puzzle. I haven’t placed an order yet. Waiting for supply to catch up so I can order an inventory model.

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but I’m using zip code 91911, not selecting a trim, and the most expensive car that shows up is still under $40K. Selecting the AWD trim brings those up but still not the M3P.
  11. O

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

How are you finding this? I’m putting in the San Diego zip code under inventory but it doesn’t give me the option of selecting a Performance trim.

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I think some people pay in advance because Tesla asks them to and so they comply. But there is zero benefit to doing so. You should always inspect the car before you hand them any money. If there is something wrong with the car you want to have the right to reject it and wait for another one...

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Highly unlikely as they delivered other Highland models before the latest FSD version was ready for them. And Tesla is all about deliveries, cash flow and stock price so they want to move these cars more than anyone. Whatever is holding them back is an absolute show stopper.
  14. O

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I sat in a showroom M3P that did not have any error messages. And we’ve seen at least a few social media reviews of the car without any issues. So my guess is they updated the firmware after the EPA estimate and caused something to break.
  15. O

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I don’t know what to make of these pictures but it certainly confirms why these cars are not ready to be delivered to customers.

Thousands? They haven’t delivered a single one yet even though many have been spotted driving down the freeways on the trucks.

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

142 pages of posts and nobody has received their M3P yet! I’m exhausted just reading through all of these. What’s the holdup? We’ve seen truckloads of these cars on the freeways now. EPA approvals appear to be in place. Is it just a firmware update? Has anyone at Tesla confirmed what they...

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I was getting very close to ordering a black/black M3P and now with the price increase it’s no longer eligible for the tax credit. So I’ll just wait it out. Eventually the supply and demand will have to catch up. Congrats to all who got their orders in before the (second) price increase!

Model 3 Highland or Model Y?

Cubic feet is one measurement but the Model Y can accommodate much taller and bulkier items in the cargo area. I have a very large Segway scooter that fits perfectly in the Model Y but there’s no way I could get it into my Model 3.

Help me decide Model 3P or Model YP

Interesting thread. I have an MYP and a LR RWD M3. I prefer to drive the MYP. The acceleration is insane. I know the M3P would be even faster but I’m not driving on a race track so I don’t think the difference would be all that meaningful for me personally. But being higher up and having all...

My Teslaunch Buying Experience - All-in-one Rim Protector

Yup, lesson learned. I actually started off the day by hooking up my pressure washer only to find the motor died. So I thought I’d just run it through a touchless car wash just to do a quick clean up. Never again. Looking for a new pressure washer now.

My Teslaunch Buying Experience - All-in-one Rim Protector

Well, I spoke too soon. Went to a touch less car wash today and I got too close to the right wall. Snapped the rim protector into little pieces. Minor damage to the wheel itself but probably would have been a lot worse without the protector. Now I need to order a replacement set I guess.

My Teslaunch Buying Experience - All-in-one Rim Protector

Glad to hear. So far mine have been great. No curb rash since installing them and so far FSD hasn’t curbed my wheels. But I get nervous a lot when it gets close and take it off FSD if I think there’s a chance it might hit.

My 2024 Quicksilver Model Y is here

I learned this after one week in my MYP. Get some rim protectors asap!

Did you remove the protector to see if there was any damage to the wheel?

Daily Driver - Model 3 LR vs P?

Keep in mind that many of the people buying an M3P will have a $7,500 advantage over you in terms of the purchase price so when they go to resell it they can afford to sell it for less because they got into it for less. So I would only buy the M3P if it’s because that’s the car you really...

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Understood, but for the Performance Model Y they went with all season tires so it’s not a given that all Performance trims will have summer tires. And judging by the number of people in this forum who are already planning to swap out the tires on delivery I’d say there’s clearly a market for...

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Curious if the real reason Tesla chose the summer tires for the M3P is because Elon thought it was necessary to have a 0-60 time starting with a 2 and if he had gone with an all season tire it would have been just over the 3 mark. With the MYP it was already at 3.5 anyway so there was no...

Disappointed in my Model 3 Highland LR

Parts availability has always been a problem on brand new Tesla models. This is why I prefer not to buy a Tesla during the first year of its production run. The Highland M3 has 50% new parts so it’s going to take some time for them to build up spare parts inventory since they need all the...

Help me decide Model Y performance or Model 3 performance

They are both great choices. I drove a Model 3 for five years and just switched to an MYP last month when they had their crazy discounts. $39.5K for a black MYP with free FSD transfer and 5K SC miles. Pretty tough deal to beat. Looks like the M3P will be about $7K more, which buys you the...

MY 2024 Refresh - Project Juniper?

I don’t know if the end of Q1 deals will be back in June but if they are and you can take advantage of both the tax credit and a big inventory discount, I’d go for the current model. Prices were so low in March that I had no problem going with the current model. I would not want one of the...

MY 2024 Refresh - Project Juniper?

Juniper is likely to be released some time around Q1-Q2 2025 in North America. It’s expected to have a similar refresh to the Highland Model 3.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

They are just trying to shift demand to other colors by making red ineligible. Red cost more to produce so there’s no reason for them to give up margin when they can sell just as many other colors right now.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

The M3P is currently $6,250 more than the LR. We tend to think of it as being less money for those of us who are eligible for the $7,500 tax incentive. However, while it is less expensive for us, Tesla still recoups the entire $6,250 in extra revenue once it collects the $7,500 back from the...

I would not want to take on more debt and pay a higher interest rate to trade in a car in perfect condition with low mileage and nothing wrong with it.

Any insight on why the M3P is only available with summer tires but if you click on “learn more” it shows all three options. It wouldn’t make sense to ship a car with summer tires to the North East region.

I was hoping the new M3P would not qualify for the tax credit. Now I’m tempted to buy it. That’s a lot of car for $46K!

The Modern Spare tire doesn't secure in the trunk, or does it?

I think it’s a good idea to keep a spare tire in your garage when you are driving locally. Worst case you flat bed the car home and then change the tire. For longer distance trips you have to live with it in the trunk or the back seat. It’s not ideal but it is what it is.
