Caution Model X, Hidden Tire Wear

Print out the alignment specs that N2itive provides and make sure you find an independent shop that will align it to N2itive's specs. Extra points if its a lifetime alignment (only $100 more), so you can get it realigned 5000 miles later for free when they didn't quite get it right the first time.

Caution Model X, Hidden Tire Wear

-1° rear camber is where I'm at with a lowered X, with the red shims (~5.5 mm), plus additional shims, roughly about 9 mm total. In all fairness, the rear is as low as you can go with lowering links, but the front is only 2/3. I like where the front is (about 1' above the tires), but would have...

    Lunar Grey is $10,000!

Me too, except I didn't qualify because I wanted Plaid and cream interior. Ultra red was free at the time. I justified it because I'm 70 y.o., still working, and figured it was my last vehicle, so went out with a bang.

How long between FSD computer update and download of version 12

I've been on 8.x since March 19th and no amount of crossing fingers, toes, or eyes has helped. Every time I see an uptick in an update, I've got my hopes up and nuttin'. Now that I appear to have lost all hope, maybe it'll sneak up on me when I least expect it. (Wish me luck🤞)

    Wheel Spacers on Model X

The winter wheels I have coming in next week are UberTurbine replicas. 20 x 9, with 40 mm offset. Only weight I know is 33 lbs including box, so hopefully lighter than Teslas. I loved these on my PY and didn't want to mess with used rims with curb rash and wrong size tires, plus needing an adapter.

Alternative, DIY refresh Model X rear camber correction

Just got back from Firestone and say I have mixed feelings. There was no pressure to go for the lifetime warranty, I had to ask for it. I brought in a $20 off coupon and was told they had a Memorial Day coupon for $40 off, did I want to use that? That's a no-brainer. They finished in 50...

Custom wheels: what is best width and offset for perfect square setup on X?

265/45 R20 is my first choice for a square 9" setup, but also exploring 245/50 R20's, but haven't explored the load rating, tire availability, etc. I just know they're the same diameter as 275's. I haven't even researched what winter tire I want. Had good luck with X-Ice on my '18 LR3 and '22...

    Wheel Spacers on Model X

That's an odd wheel config. Usually the offset changes with wheel width, so the wheel "pokes" equally front and rear. willtheyfit.com says my new 9" wheels front and rear in a square setup, will have 18 mm less poke on the rear. My wheels (no tires) come in next week so we'll see how bad it...

Custom wheels: what is best width and offset for perfect square setup on X?

Did anyone figure out which size tire in a square setup, results in no speedo change? In other words, is speed determined by the rear tire size or the front? I'm doing my research for winter tires and have a couple of (20") sizes in mind.

Does anyone have rear brakes frozen when first moving after hours parked?

I took delivery of a Plaid X Feb '24 and have had this issue from the beginning. At first I assumed it was similar to my '22 PY in the winter when I had frequent car washes and the brake pad simply froze from ice. But I'm still having this several times a week, sometimes leaving work on a 70°F...

    2017 Model X 100D-FSD?

Who's lowered their X? (pics or it never happened)

Found out my rear lowering links were ~10 mm longer than stock (measured outside to outside) and one was hitting the frame when jacked up and tire removed. Max is 9 mm so shortened them to 9 and added 2 shims to the RR and adjusted the toe. Prior to this I had roughly 1" clearance front and 2"...

Alternative, DIY refresh Model X rear camber correction

My current front and rear toe is similar to yours. N2itive recommends about half the rear toe we have. N2itive recommended wheel alignment specs for the Tesla Model X: Front Camber: -0.3° to -1.2° Front Caster: 3.7° to 4.7° Front Toe: 0.0° to 0.15° Total Front Toe: 0.0° to 0.30°...

I checked out lifetime alignment online at my local Tires Plus, and was ready to sign up, then saw lots of bad reviews, mostly regarding service estimates. I'm confused. Why didn't they adjust the front caster to get everything green? I thought the meaning of green/red, was pass/fail. I had the same Hunter alignment sheets and everything was green when done, both times. Looks like the red shims work well for the stock S, but IMHO the X needs more...

Stuck on 2024.8.4 in my 2022 MX Plaid w/FSD

You're not alone. I usually get updates by the 3rd day of a wide release, but that was several releases ago. I bought FSD when they announced only $2k from EAP, so have have been on v11 since then, currently 2024.8.9. I'm under the impression that people without FSD are getting preference over...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Late '22 Y's got the comfort suspension, which may be why it was better than the X. I missed out on that by maybe 2 months in my Sept '22 PY.

Saw good reviews of Hankook all season tires. Wondering if anyone's been able to try their winter tires. I'm not able to find them at Tire Rack or Discount Tire. I'll want a square setup on my 20x9 wheels. My backup plan would be X-Ice, which I've had on my 3 & Y...

    Spring release 2024.14 for 23-24 Model X

I'm long overdue for an update too (although not as overdue as you). I usually get one around day 3 of a wide release. That means I should have had 14.6 yesterday. Got passed over by 14.5 as well. I've been on 8.9 since Apr 8th. FSD v11.1 sucks on 8.9.
