Tesla Service Had to Remove My Rear View Mirror + Unclip My Cameras…does this need to be recalibrated?

Everything is working properly, I reset the calibration in the settings. After a few miles Autopilot worked perfectly. This was the only thing popped out, the cameras weren’t messed with, just the entire plastic piece as pictured here. As long as they popped it back in, you’re saying the...

    Tire Rotation Pattern?

I have a 2023 Model Y (Long Range) with the 19inch Gemini Wheels. Specifically, I have tbe Pirelli Scorpion MS tires. I have 6,250 miles on it and went to rotate the tires today. I lifted from the back lift point and was able to raise the entire side of the vehicle and rotated the front to...

Best Way To Hardwire Tesla Wall Connector with Existing Wires?

I don’t even know how I’d get an inspector out here for something I did. I honestly appreciate your feedback. Do you don’t see any safety issues here? I just want to make sure everything is legit. I tried my best.

Tesla Service Had to Remove My Rear View Mirror + Unclip My Cameras…does this need to be recalibrated?

What type of recalibration are we talking about? All I did was the following… Controls > Service> Camera Calibration > Clear Calibration. Is there anything else that needs to be done? Nothing was torqued back in, they just snapped the cameras back into place. Is there any way in service I...

Tesla Service Had to Remove My Rear View Mirror + Unclip My Cameras…does this need to be recalibrated?

I had service replace something in my rear view mirror and I noticed they had to remove everything. They popped everything back in and that was it. Do I need to re-calibrate my cameras or anything? I read anytime the cameras were removed that they needed to be re-calibrated. Not sure if I...

2023 Model Y - FSD Won’t Work At Night - Internal Cabin Camera Broken?

I notice the IR sensors are actually behind the black cover. I checked my working vehicle and they are visible…the one that’s broken won’t show any red dots. I wonder if it’s the black covers. There must be some type of transparent material allowing the light to come through. Any chance the...

Best Way To Hardwire Tesla Wall Connector with Existing Wires?

Why do you think an inspector wouldn’t be happy? I don’t think there’s any code violation. Thankfully the unit has been working great. I did notice this weird knot formed in the middle of the cord. It isn’t exposed to any elements either. Any idea how to contact Tesla for potential warranty...

Wall charger cable starting to distort

Sorry to bump this thread, but my brand new Wall Charger (3rd Gen) is developing these knots after one month. This unit is in my garage and doesn’t get any sunlight. My outdoor unit has been exposed to the elements for longer and has no issues. How do I start the warranty process of...

2023 Model Y - FSD Won’t Work At Night - Internal Cabin Camera Broken?

I had software updates on both vehicles, tried rebooting before that, nothing works. A live look at both vehicles. The cabin cameras work in the day, but at night only one works. Can anyone share a screenshot of their App? It’s supposed to work at night, right?

Best Way To Hardwire Tesla Wall Connector with Existing Wires?

The NM Cable (entering the box) was legit stuck. I couldn’t pull any out or in…it was very “stuck” in place. The wires sat open in the box while there was a receptacle there, so why do you think it’s on the hairy edge of legit? The connectors used were UL rated for wires to be fed through...

2023 Model Y - FSD Won’t Work At Night - Internal Cabin Camera Broken?

It works normally in the daylight. And now it’s working because the front screen lights up when doing the live view…but I don’t thinks it’s night vision. Both cars are in my dark garage right now…this is the one where IR is working properly. This is the one that I think is broken…it only...

2023 Model Y - FSD Won’t Work At Night - Internal Cabin Camera Broken?

I was as driving last night and noticed FSD would not work. I went home and tested both our 2023 Model Y’s live cabin camera. The car where FSD wouldn’t work looked like this at night. My other Y looked like this in live view… Do I need Tesla service to fix this? Night vision appears to...

Best Way To Hardwire Tesla Wall Connector with Existing Wires?

Thanks! I left the neutral capped off inside so it was accessible if needed. Didn’t want to leave it in the wall with the only way to retrieve being to unmount the entire charger. Is that okay what I did? The NM Cable jacket is clamped down in the receptacle box here. I wanted to pull out...

Couldn’t pull out excess wire…it wouldn’t budge. I finally did it, let me know your thoughts! Step 1 - Power Off Step 2 - Remove old NEMA 14-50 Receptacle and start feeding wires through back of Tesla Wall Charger on top of receptacle. Step 3 - Mount Tesla Wall Charger to wall (bottom two...

Best Way To Hardwire Tesla Wall Connector with Existing Wires?

I currently have this plastic receptacle box and wires in wall. I removed the outlet and plan to hardwire the Tesla Wall Charger. Here are the existing wires and plastic box… Here’s how I’d like to hardwire the charger with a bit of additional wire spliced (in the box) and running a bit of...

Best Way To Hardwire Tesla Wall Connector with Existing Wires?

Sorry, I don’t have enough pictures of the inside outlet, but you’re right, I already had outside done last year. I was simply providing those pictures as I have more images. The inside location (here) is exactly the same as the outside. I’m wondering if there’s enough slack to do this...

What if I mount where the red star is, remove the wires from the receptacle, and feed the wires through the back around the top? You think I have enough slack? Best Way To Hardwire Tesla Wall Connector with Existing Wires?

I have a 50A GFCI Breaker and a Junction Box with some #6 NMB Wires capped off (Black, White, Red, Bare Copper Ground). I plan to remove the junction box and mount the Wall Charger exactly where the wires are coming in and feed them through here. Now, I assume up until I get all the wires...

Faceplate on Wall Charger Slightly Moves - Is This Normal?

Thanks for linking that thread! I checked my neighbor’s and theirs had zero movement, so I just wanted to make sure it was normal. So you have two Gen 3’s and they both have some play, but one is worse than the other? Do you mind posting a quick vid if you have a moment? My only thought was...

Faceplate on Wall Charger Slightly Moves - Is This Normal?

Thanks for confirming! You have the same 3rd Gen Wall Charger? Do you have a 3rd Wall Charger to compare it to? I honestly don’t mind if it’s normal. And just to confirm, that’s not supposed to be sealed or water tight, right?

Faceplate on Wall Charger Slightly Moves - Is This Normal?

Where are coolant lines (on side of vehicle) located?

I just wonder if any coolant lines run under the plastic rocker panels on each side piece between lift points. For example, on the left side, between each lift point, are there coolant lines running underneath? Same with the right? Wish there was a map showing exactly where they run.

Is #8 THHN with Tesla Wall Charger Up To Code? (On 50A Breaker)

Thanks for all the helpful responses…glad to know I’m up to code at a 50A breaker (which charges at 40A). Two more questions… 1. Is the #8 THHN good up to 50A or 55A? I’m honestly just curious and want to educate myself better. 2. If using #6 NM-B wire to hardwire to a Tesla Wall Charger, I...

Question - I have #6 NM-B to a junction box. The connection was made there with #8 THHN. Technically it is hardwired to the Tesla Wall Charger, but it goes like this. 50A Breaker > #6 NM-B > Junction Box > #8 THHN > Tesla Wall Charger Does the first part of the run being #6 NM-B mess...

Is #8 THHN with Tesla Wall Charger Up To Code? (On 50A Breaker)

I can only use a 50A breaker due to other limitations outside of my control, so I will have a 50A breaker and when I select that in the Tesla App, it only allows a max charge of 40A. I’m using #8 THHN (Copper). Here are two pics…. Just to confirm - this is up to code and safe for it being...

Is #8 THHN with Tesla Wall Charger Up To Code? (On 50A Breaker)

I’m trying to get a better understanding of this installation and I believe the manual calls for #6 wire…which can be on a 60A Breaker and chargers at 48A. But, if it’s on a 50A Breaker, charging at 40A, would #8 THHN be up to code...

Where do the coolant lines run on the sides of the Model Y? For example, from the jack lift points…are they towards the inside (middle of the car) under the solid battery cover? Tesla wants to replace my battery because jack points are damaged

Could you take a look at your Y when you have a moment? I have to assume this is either from manufacturing and on other Ys which means it’s normal. If it’s not on other Ys, it’s clearly an issue. Just wondering if you or anyone else with a Y could take a look. Thanks

Tesla wants to replace my battery because jack points are damaged

Did software update cause false alerts?

Dent/Scratch Under Lift Point? Is this normal?

You’re sure the battery is not located underneath there? The reason I was asking is one of my Y’s has them on all 4 lift points…my other Y doesn’t have them at any lift points. Both are Dec 2023 build…one is Austin and the other is Fremont. I know they aren’t going to be exactly the same...

Dent/Scratch Under Lift Point? Is this normal?

I essentially have this tiny ding inside all 4 lift point holes on my Austin built Y. My Fremont Y doesn’t have these at all. Can you or anyone else take a picture of theirs when you have a moment? Can you help me out and take a picture when you have a moment?

Did software update cause false alerts?

Exactly. Can you try to go into your App and book a service appointment. Does it throw any alerts? Both my vehicles are doing it in the App when I go to schedule an appointment…but the cars are just fine and show no alerts while I’m in the vehicles. Wondering if I really need to book an...

Did software update cause false alerts?

I went to schedule a service for my Y for an exterior trim adjustment and saw there was an alert. This is what showed. I went into the vehicle and it says there are no active alerts. For experimental purposes, I went to our other Y and went to schedule service. I see there are two alerts...

Dent/Scratch Under Lift Point? Is this normal?

I have two Model Y’s…both are 2023 LR AWD. One is an Austin build and the other is a Fremont build. I noticed under the lift points on the Austin build, there’s these little dent/scratch/imperfections under the lift points. The Fremont build does not have these. I’m wondering if this...

Did I damage my vehicle trying to use this lift puck?

My concern is I damage whatever is up inside the hole behind this piece. I only pushed by hand, so it doesn’t seem likely there was any damage. I was also curious if the battery was located directly under the lift point or a bit inside of it towards the center of the car. Yeah, I’m glad I...

Did I damage my vehicle trying to use this lift puck?

What’s weird is these seem to fit other Y’s…not sure why the piece that goes up into the hole is a bit long for mine. 1. I pushed it up by hand a bit hard before realizing it wouldn’t go up…I have NOT used a jack yet. Any chance I damaged whatever is inside the hole by pushing on it by hand...

    What the puck?

I got these Basenor pucks from Amazon and I have 2023 Model Y LR AWD built in Austin…it appears the shaft is too long…which would put pressure on whatever is inside the hole. I tried to push these in by hand, somewhat hard, before I realized it was too long and wouldn’t go in. Any chance I...

Did I damage my vehicle trying to use this lift puck?

Will using this lift puck damage my Model Y? This is the Basenor puck on Amazon and says it’s rated for the Y…but it’s too long. I didn’t try to lift it, but I did try pushing it in before I realized it was too long. Should I be worried about causing any damage from trying to push it in by hand?

Any idea how to clean this glass inside the autopilot camera area? This appeared after tint job…

Thanks. Yes, I meant the cameras near the rear view mirror…thanks for explaining. I have a 2023 Model Y with Hardware 4. Do you as well? I’ve read to remove the mirror you can use the torx screw to remove it…but I’ve also read I may need to untwist it, like this video (around 2:30)...
