SpaceX Completes NASA Mission With Pre-Used Rocket and Spacecraft

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]SpaceX successfully launched and landed a Falcon 9 today, sending a Dragon capsule full of cargo to the International Space Station.

The delivery mission for NASA suffered three delays over the past two weeks before being cleared for today’s launch at Cape Canaveral Air Force station in Florida.

The mission was the first time SpaceX has used both a pre-used rocket and spacecraft. It also marks the first time a used rocket was launched for a NASA cargo mission. The Dragon capsule used previously traveled to the space station in April 2015, and the Falcon 9 employed was launched and landed in June 2017.

SpaceX has now completed 20 first-stage landings and re-flown landed boosters four times, showing the company continues to get closer to its goal of complete reusability.
