Tesla has started rolling out a new version of Navigate on Autopilot, which advances the company’s mission of a full-self-driving vehicle.
Navigate on Autopilot enables the car to guide itself from a highway’s on-ramp to off-ramp, including suggesting and making lane changes, navigating highway interchanges, and taking exits.
A tweet from Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk confirmed the software deployment.

Navigate on Autopilot currently requires turn signal confirmation from the driver to make a lane change, but it seems Tesla is eliminating that in the new version.
The update also includes the new Enhanced Summon, which Tesla describes as “a parking assist feature that helps you bring your car towards you or towards the destination of your choice by navigating out of parking spaces and maneuvering around objects as necessary.”
The feature essentially enables self-driving in parking lots.
Navigate on Autopilot and Enhanced Summon are offered as part of Tesla’s $5,000 Full Self-Driving package, which is in addition to the basic $3,000 Autopilot package.
