Tesla Promotes Miller to Head of Production

Tesla has appointed Richard Miller as head of production at the the company’s Fremont, Calif. factory, according to a report from TechCrunch.

Miller was previously the director of paint operations.

The report cited an internal email sent to employees Monday. Miller replaces Jatinder Dhillon, who left the company in March, according to a CNBC report. Dhillon worked for Tesla for more than 7 years and most recently led Model 3 production in Fremont, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“Due to excellent performance as head of paint operations in Fremont, Richard Miller is hereby promoted to overall head of Fremont Production. Congratulations!” the email said.

Tesla’s Fremont factory was closed on March 23 due to health orders related to the COVID-19 pandemic, but started production efforts again on Monday.
