Tesla Building Giant 56-Stall Charging Station

Tesla is building a giant 56-stall Supercharger station near Firebaugh, Calif.

TMC members spotted tweets and filings that offer some details on the project. MarcoRP tracked down photos on Twitter of the station under construction, which would be one of the largest Tesla charging stations in the world.

Then he tracked town the paperwork filed with the County of Fresno. The application outlines plans to build 56 V3 Supercharger stalls, a convenience store, and a restaurant. The station will be open 24 hours a day and plans to serve about 1,200 customers a day.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in 2018 that he wanted Supercharger locations to feature an “old school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant.” Musk said the station will include an outdoor screen playing “a highlight reel of the best scenes in movie history.” And, Musk plans for the diner’s digital menu to pop-up on Tesla owners’ screens when the vehicle is placed in park. It’s not clear if the Firebaugh station will include the ’50s-themed restaurant.
