SpaceX Ends Year With 26 Successful Launches

SpaceX capped a record-breaking year over the weekend with a mission carrying a spy satellite.

The mission known as NROL-108 was SpaceX’s 26th successful launch and 23rd landing of 2020. That’s the company’s most launches to date. NROL-108 was also the 50th reflight of a Falcon 9 since the company first recovered a booster in 2015; and the 70th landing of a Falcon 9.

Saturday’s mission was originally scheduled for Thursday but was canceled due to technical problems. The first phase of the Falcon 9 used in the mission had flown four times before.

Saturday’s mission was for the National Reconnaissance Office, which sent classified cargo into orbit.
