1. Charging: 27W PD 3.0 fast charging
The Jowua LED Hub has five sets of USB ports in total: 2 X USB-C and 3 X USB-A. With the PD 3.0 fast charging protocol, these two USB-C ports support up to 27W and 18W output individually. When you want to quickly charge mobile phones, tablets, or portable power banks, the two USB-C ports are the best choice. The other USB-A ports are recommended to charge a GoPro, wireless headphones, and other smaller electronic devices.
The dynamic power control of Jowua LED Hub is as follows:
- USB-C (No. 1) directly use one Model 3/Y car USB-C current, complete output 27W, not shared by other ports.
- USB-C (No. 2) and the other three USB-A ports use the other USB-C port’s power, for a total of 27W.
- USB-C (No. 2) has a full output of 18W, which is not shared by other ports.
- USB-A (3 ports) supports up to 7.5W output individually. When using the multiple ports together, it shares the 27W with USB-C (No. 2).
Summarizing the above, the Jowua LED Hub can provide a maximum charging output up to 27W + 27W simultaneously. The first USB-C port supports up to 27W full charging speed, and the second USB-C supports up to 18W charging. The remaining 9W can be shared by the other three USB-A ports to charge low-power devices. If the USB-C (18W) is not used, then three USB-A ports will use that power, supporting up to a total of 27 W. 2. Data Transfer: Connecting game controllers and music flash drives
There are two important uses for the USB ports in a Tesla beyond charging, which both require data transfer – they need to read a USB stick to play high-resolution music, and read input from Bluetooth dongles to connected wireless game controllers. The five ports included on Jowua’s 2021 LED Hub all support data transfer, and can all do so simultaneously.
3. Dynamic Power Control: Automatic intelligent distribution of available power
People who have used cheap hubs in the early days have encountered the “USB device failure” warning when using all ports.
