Tesla’s online store is now offering a CHAdeMO quick charge adapter for the Model 3.
The accessory appeared Tuesday in Tesla’s online store with a retail price of $450. The device enables charging speeds of up to 50 kW.
CHAdeMO is another quick-charging method for EVs. In addition to Tesla’s Supercharger network, owners can visit the more than 3,200 such charging stations in North America. Adding the adapter for Model 3 means all of Tesla’s current models can use the system.
The availability of the CHAdeMO adapter comes when the first Model 3s are being delivered outside of North America where CHAdeMO chargers are more common.
