Good point on rebates going away. Here in Canada, the federal and provincial rebates are one time use only (ie. lifetime of the rebate program). So whoever that bought one no longer get the rebate anymore. Secondly I think we are down to only 2 provinces that still offer tiered-based rebates. Quebec is planning to phase its rebate out by 2026. No mention on BC rebate future.

You need to be able to charge overnight at home, it has to meet you range requirements (much less of an issue now), and it has to fit your budget. In terms of budget, the cost and battery degradation also make an EV better for high mileage drivers vs low mileage drivers.
Choose the right tool for the right job. EV's are not going anywhere, and neither are gas vehicles. They both have a place in the marketplace.

Yep. Hope you've voted at Prediction, in Which Year Will New Electric Vehicle Sales Exceed 50% in the United States "Poll", if you haven't already. I still stand by my vote of after 2040 despite my living in California and having been driving pure BEVs since end of July 2013.

First of all, I know I'm preaching to the EV choir here so the responses to this might be biased. Second, not sure if any of you watch Cash's videos but he's been going very negative lately anyway.

Watch his video (as far as you can before getting fed up) and let me know your thoughts.

Is this the end of EVs?

Or are his points mostly NYC problems?

I watched the video...
I learned that:
1) NYC sucks, and no one should buy ANY car living there.
2) The LLBeans guy really makes plenty of false claims (like "EVs with comparable options are more expensive than similar ICE vehicles")
3) I would not live in NYC, and if I would be forced to live there, I'd use city transit.

One other point…school kids think Teslas are cool…even kids that don’t like cars recognize them and value them as a status symbol (but it’s not just about $…it’s about being environmentally friendly). I’ve seen the reaction that my kids’ friends have to my Model Y, “OMG! You guys got a Tesla!? When did you do that?” My wife’s brand new X3 didn’t generate a peep…the only car I’ve seen more reaction to was another dad’s Taycon…the dad who showed up in the tricked out X7 didn’t even get a second look!

Absolutely true. And I live in Oklahoma. Kids are turning heads and trying to overrun my Teslas when waiting at the bus stops. A kid opened a window on a highway to show me a thumb up. Kids at school thought my daughter is reach cuz we drive Teslas. etc.
