Historic reasons, I guess. Knowing India, they oppose chinese products as there is always a tension between these two. No politician in India can win an election after making a deal with Tesla and give Chinese the production.

Yes, the agreement is for Tesla to build Giga Chennai/Mumbai/Ahmedabad plant in 3 years time and during the process Tesla can import their cars for nominal excise duty of 10-15% instead of the 200% that attracts other foreign brands if they do not have a factory in India.
Same as why Teslas in Taiwan also come from Berlin rather than the much much closer Shanghai factory.

Spotted a car in what looked like to be Quick Silver (assuming it hadn’t been wrapped) - very nice.
It was my choice of colour when we reserved but they removed the colour before UK launch. Wife always wanted blue and it’s her car so it probably wouldn’t have happened anyway.

We got swapped from Midnight about two weeks before delivery. Was a bit more £££ but looks really nice. I popped some Tessories vortex wheel covers on…

It came nice and shiny. Literally arrived at my house at 3pm so still showroom clean
. Depending on the light it can be light silver and dark silver at the same time. Looks good in the sun. Will be interesting to see it on a full day
Looks really nice. Kind of reminds me of BMW’s Individual Pure Metal Silver. No idea if they still do it but it was a £10k paint job when it came out, their most expensive colour.
So at least we know that Shanghai gigafactory paint shop has been updated, rather than Berlin upgraded for RWD production..
Last I saw was the first quicksilver will come from China before entire production switches to Berlin so Cherry Red becomes available.
