Hi fellow Model S-ers.
I recently made this raised emblem and I was wondering what you guys think. Should letters be bigger and spaced further apart? Or does it look just fine. I had recently made one for a friend where the PLAID emblem was to the top right which looked fine. I want your guys...
If you like the nimbleness of a car and efficiency, stick with your 3. If you want a fast cruise missile, go with an S.
The front and passenger chairs suck in the S. Little mobility compared to the 3. Frunk of the S is small. Seats on S cant really go that low.
I’m just a kid still exploring what I can do to better learn my car. There’s nothing much I can do mechanically but I can try cosmetically.
It’s 20/15 front rear. I would go darker tbh but I need visibility. In my area friends have gotten pulled over for tints.
Wasnt really expecting this from a $100,000+ car. But tesla will be tesla. When the car detects the bluetooth nearby it turns "on" and has this beastly humming noise. Frightening
After my ppf and tint was complete, I finally took official delivery of my car. I realized that the tail lights (left) is misaligned. I will be correcting that myself.
Newer 2023 Model 3 standard range.
My 2019 Model 3 Long Ranger isnt fairing to well. I just hit 100,000 miles. Supposedly, the battery chemistry is much better(?) than the 2019 batteries.
In short, my range went from 310 miles to 270 miles which is not bad. However, going "long distance" the...
Seeing these price cuts with HW4 makes me have FOMO. After driving the plaid, I would have preferred the Long range. This car is just too fast. However, I guess because I don't or rarely use AP/FSD there is no need for HW4.
The theory is that people make more left or right turns wearing the wires. Car does not always go straight. Rotating after front to back to X would be better in wearing the tires out.
quick answer = No.
If these are new tires and its your first rotation, Front to back then 2nd rotation cross.
Floor jacks should never be used as a support. Not worth the time savings over your life.
Use floor jack to raise the car. Slide in jack stands. Slow release the pressure on the floor jack.
Then you dont need a wheel chock or a spare tire.
Use a brick or two if you think your car is really going to roll.
Pick up another set of jack stands. Jack one side. Then jack the other.
This car definitely deserves 4 wheel braking.
However, that is not the case.
100% of manual breaking come from front pads after regenerative breaking is not enough.
Rear breaking helps from inclined driving or parking.
Depending on the year of your car, newer model S are staggered meaning you cant rotate them. Read the tire size to gauge if you can.
Best approach imho is..
(x2)3 ton jack stands $79 from harbor frieght
(x1) Low profile jack pump $149 from harbor frieght
(x4) hockey pucks from walmart
If your...
Alrighty. Picked up a Tesla Model S plaid basically for the price of a Model S LR (+$3000). Red Exterior, white interior. Truly Frightening Car.
This car is just absurd.
The tires are due for a change to a more economical cruiser type tires. They are fat af.
Changed my order. Took advantage of the incentives and displaced my order for a plaid model. It was only $3000 more. Tesla is "willing" to change steering column in several months from yoke to steering if requested.
jesus.. The demos are tempting.
Our order is $5000 away from a plaid that I see online (different part is the steering.) What are your inputs because this is crazy...
My order was now updated. Feb 20 - March 27.
Tesla had reached out out available models with my specifications. The only differing matter was Yoke vs Round steering column. They offered me the yoke and to change to the round (at no cost) a couple months into ownership. We, unfortunately, declined.
Just placed an order for the S LR, Red Exterior, White interior, 21 wheels, Round steering. Our ETA is Feb-Mar, Cali
Do we know if the new 2023 models come with the 4680 cells and all model S' come with standard Air suspension?
2019 LR AWD M3
Current Miles: 9x,xxx miles
Life Time Average Watts: 259
I've had plenty of issues with this car, but I may have found an alternate solution.
I have had random battery drains (vampire), low wattage consumption, and not meeting drivable theoretical miles.
Since November 2021...
2019 M3 LRAWD with +60,000 miles
No A/C, Flat roads, 1 occupancy, Cruise control at 65 mph. This is the best my car can do.
Car ended up with 13% remaining after the drive. Consumption of 53kW which begs to differ .. where are the rest of the 16%.
Go take off the front/rear wheel and inspect the wheel panel insulation. Its bare min. With my Model3LRawd, there are multiple missing snap on buttons and I had to buy MY OWN to stop some of the road noise and rattling.
If you read my posts (plural), I posted and taken many user's advice and posted data on it and still comes the tesla fanboys all negative and hostile to my results. Cruise Control = Lane assist + Set Speed + 3 car distance. So, maybe not cruise control but not yet standard auto pilot?
I'll sell...
Not that I dont
Not that I dont care about the explanation, but I was bringing up my situation in light because if one has a problem --> most likely someone else has a similar problem.
Ran to zero because I did a ROAD TRIP driving 65 mph on cruise control (not auto pilot). Couldnt get to the...
My situation may be similar to yours.
2019 M3 LR AWD
Max car will charge is 284 miles (100%). As you said, there is a reserve. I ran my car down to 0%. I drove for another 14 miles before it actaully shut down and had it towed.
However, the max miles i can ever get with my tesla m3 is 220 -...
Why would you do this? Bring more stress and friction on pads and rotors with 2 tons of weight? If its a rock, your going to cause more damage to your rotors.
Take off your tire and inspect the brake pad through the outlet that is provided.
It is relatively that simple.
Hello Model 3ers.
Just wanted to provide you guys some update on the battery health of my model 3 since delivery.
LW AWD
Delivery Date: June 30th/July 1 2019
Mileage at delivery: 50
Current Mileage: 55,489
Life time wH/mile: 251
Just wanted to give you guys an update on my model 3 and...
That picture doesnt tell you anything about tread life.
I dont know what you mean by fast charging. Any tesla can fast charge depending on what type of charger they are using.
LR: Check tires to see if they have been replaced. I have to change my tires soon and its above 40K miles at the moment. Plug in the LR with the mobile charger and assess what a full battery will give you. You want to make sure you that that battery holds its charge. You wont be getting 325...
Does anyone else have issues wiht the new update? Havent had much of an issues since until now.
Sound quality is bad, if not, doesnt play at all. Turning signals do not work (doesnt make the clicking noise).
Navigation does not work. When it does, the map doesnt adjust to current location...
Some car parts are made from biodegradable components that are "tasty" to rodents.
Some Manufacturers are now moving away from it. It was just a movement to please the libs about using eco friendly products.
Welcome to the club.
Bought 2019 July AWD LR
Mileage: 40k miles
I tried using some of the users advice on charging but it actually got worse. Like much worse. Some advise on keeping the car plugged in but that’s hard to track your usage.
This is my latest charge. Charged to 90%...
Damn,
Full charged for me now is estimated at 271 miles (100%)
It has been on a downward trend and i dont know if it will stop.
I think it is best to really not charged until you are low to help gauge how much kW your car really has.
I have done this recently and ran it down to roughly 2-3...
You are right. Even when new, I think it never achieved 300 miles, but we did get pretty close.
As of the moment, my car charges at 100% while reading 284 miles. (Almost a 10% loss)
From my day to day driving, I have my wall charger. I plug it maybe... once a week?
Now, as to your question on...
