Poll: When will FSD V12 be in wide release?

https://electrek.co/2024/05/15/elon-musk-tesla-next-full-self-driving-update-5-to-10x-fewer-interventions-per-mile/ Wow, so impressive, let me know when my Tesla can drive me from LA to NY like you said. ;)

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Regen is not battery capacity dependent, it is BMS dependent. Agree that 100% is not true 100% but the car can also be set to allow no regen above 90%. See case of Powerwall that will no charge battery until down to 60%. It is all software.

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

When at home, I do not charge to 100%, regardless of how long. I do charge to 100% before I go on road trips and also during (hotel charging, long stretches where I do need 100%).

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Correction: LFP not immune to higher degradation at 100%. Better than NMC but still higher degradation.

creaking @slow speed /turning after upper control arms replaced

12k miles per tire change. Don't even have to worry about tire rotation... I can see why Hertz is getting out of renting EVs. LOL

creaking @slow speed /turning after upper control arms replaced

So it looks like every 50K miles = new tires + new control arms. :(

https://electrek.co/2024/05/14/tesla-full-self-driving-trial-users-take-rate-credit-card-data/ Like I said, just include it with the car. If not the Standard/RWD trim, at least the LR trim.

Are you sure? Seems China is investing more in renewables than the USA... mainly because we have a party that is funded by the fossil fuel industry and totally against renewables.

Model 3 Highland or Model Y?

Totally agree but Model 3 has it's surprise too. Last month, I packed some stuff to my friend's house. It was amazing how much stuff you can fit with the rear seat down. That rear deck makes you think you have less space. I do wish they modify the Model 3 into a hatch back... maybe that'd...

That's why the fossil fuel industry is panicking, they are giving Trump $1B to protect them. Yes, let's roll back so China can kick our butt. I guess we need to get ready to all become Amish and go back to horse and buggy - because we will be poor. LOL

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

When you go on a road trip, do back to back charge to 100% (as it goes past 98%, the BMS goes into a CALIBRATION mode), you should recover some miles. You can do the same at home (let it charge to 100% before leaving, do that for a week), you should also recover some miles.

  36. E

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

Yep, the grid must be balanced and it's either turn off power assets or pay someone to accept the load (usage or storage). For natural gas, it's a lack of demand and storage are getting full. Same problem when we started having the economic shutdowns in 2020 and crude oil was negative.

Initial degradation is alarming but it slows down. Sign up with Recurrent auto (free) and track your battery degradation. My 10 month old M3 RWD is at 21k miles and my range is 266. Due to the flat/steady voltage of the LFP pack, the BMS has a hard time tracking the actual range of the...
