Slightly oversized for 24 miles commuting, so there is obviously "no reason in the reasoning" except making yourself a big pleasure... to cut a long story short  Welcome to the club though

DIY UV Treatment for Yellowed MCU Screen

Then you are luckier in the US than I am as, apparently, these UV devices did not reach the Tesla SC in Belgium yet. So, for the moment, we are left with the problem as far as I know. To get an official answer, I will request a repair through the smartphone application with some pictures of my...

DIY UV Treatment for Yellowed MCU Screen

My reseller just told me that this problem is occuring almost systematically on the "new generation" screens. The previous ones (first generation were "all" breaking at some point and needed replacement - this is my case). So now it is supposed to be "better" but it suffers from this yellowing...

1 Year In Review | Actual Costs + Our Experience: Used CPO Tesla Model S 85D As A Primary Family Car

Thanks for this great feedback. I'll take a look at your video ;) Responding to ucladukes, I am not totally sure about USA as I'm located in Europe but I purchased my second hand Model S in a (specialised) non-official Tesla dealer and the reflexion + purchase process was really smooth and...

DIY UV Treatment for Yellowed MCU Screen

It must depend on the exact characteristics of the UV itself as well. Duration of treatment is a parameter too for sure. I don't think that cold temperature has an effect, on the contrary I would say. I guess that high temperatures are more critical for this phenomenon to appear, at least was...

DIY UV Treatment for Yellowed MCU Screen

After the first parking time in plain sun yesterday, I noticed the yellowing appearing on my Model S central screen  Could this disappear when it will cool down, or is it now there "forever"? Being in Europe, I would have to check for a UV lamp available here...Maybe in DIY shop.

    2020.12.11.5 firmware is released.

I tried the same reboot to get the update but this apparently did not solve the issue. Just after one or two more attempts, all of a sudden, the download went beyond the critical first 10% and the install process happened successfully. But then I noticed that I had lost my data connectivity. A...

    2020.12.11.5 firmware is released.

After several attempts, I finally managed to go through the full process. Lost connectivity after install but a reboot solved the problem. Didi not try the USB yet but unsure if this is available on my model anyway.

    2020.12.11.5 firmware is released.

Update done after a few unsuccessfull attempts. For an "old" model like mine, just some minor bug correction and display of the SUC stalls out of order. Can somebody tell me if USB music is available for my version? I did try in the past but no USB icon in sight...

Did Tesla just de-tune my car?? (Death rattle gone)

It seems a bit contradictory to purchase a Tesla and then complaint about the changes brought by the manufacturer updates. This is one of the main characteristics of this brand, right? I am not sure what this death rattle exactly is. For sure you won't get it in a Prius :p

    Road trip in a 2016 90D

That's a nice approach to pick the convenient locations for a stop rather than "just" stopping for charge. Of course this comes with the distances and variety of locations offered in the US. Being in Europe, this is not so easy and you rather go by obligation (trip planning) than by...

    2020.8.3 just updating

I jumped directly from 2020.8.2 to 2020.12.5 two days ago. It never proposed the 8.3 strangely enough. Anyway, having a P85D from 2015, it does not seem to add any significant improvement to my car :( By the way, I didn't get the "software folder" from the previous post: how do you see that?

It is possible to disconnect and take these lights away from the car but it requires some mechanical "talent", a few tools and a lot of patience! Model S (2013) rear-left airsuspension leak (?)

Mine is a Model S from 2015 purchased in a reseller (but as second hand) a couple of months ago.
