Replacing OEM 19' Hankooks on MY

As a result of a screw in my front tyre, I ended up at the local Jax yesterday. The rears are worn on the inside after 25,000kms, the tyre tech that I did well to get that as he's seen others in with less kms, and Model Xs with as little 15,000kms needing new tyres. He reckons that I'll get...

Another $5000 price drop. Model Y entry point now $58,251

The cheapest Model Y RWD on carsales in March was around $58k. The recent flurry of price cuts have been reflected almost immediately in the price of second hand MYs.

    Superchargers in Australia

People expressing their opinions on here is the whole point of the forum, in much the same manner some are self appointed Tesla cheer leaders on the forum. You should ask yourself why you feel so uncomfortable about people criticising decisions by the company. It's understandable for owners to...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I tried it today and it feels like the delay between lifting off the accelerator and the Regen starting is shorter, and then once it has transitioned to full Regen it does feel like it decelerates at a slightly higher rate. I like it. Overall I really like the new UI experience, my only...

Tesla still doesn't know about the Rozelle Interchange

My map is still showing the pre-interchange world and the car is showing me on the surface roads. When I drive through there I "end trip" and avoid TACC so as to avoid it braking for a left turn on the surface road.

    Model 3 roof glass crack

I had a crack on my Model Y glass roof about a month after taking delivery. No marks or chips on the outside, and the crack could only be seen from inside. Reviewing sentry is that it was most likely cause when parked under a gum tree on a windy day. Around $2200 to replace it at Telsa. Sucked...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

When a new revision comes out like this that only a couple of numbers ahead of what you're currently on, you should just immediately take it on the premise that they've pushed it quickly to address the bugs on the version that you're currently running.

    Answer Signal calls on Tesla

There's nothing in regulation about the phone being on the charging pad, and if you have any doubt as to whether it's secure let me know if you've ever had the phone come off the cradle. The wording is clear, and the Tesla phone cradle complies. As for the example of your son's fine, that's a...

One colleague finally has his 3 in for some panel work, it's been a three month wait due to parts. Another colleague has been waiting since January for Tesla to supply a bonnet for a Y. You'd expect that replacement bonnets would be needed in decent numbers by panel beaters for repairs. The...

This is the one thing that you can do to help keep your car cleaner for longer, and make it easier to wash. It's a must for any new car, $1000 well spent with a GTechniq detailer. My preferred car wash products are from NV, however it often comes down to personal preference.

    Toyota Bz4X

For Toyota it's a classic case of your strength becoming your weakness. Their legendary reliability (disclaimer- I'm a fan boi) comes partly from their conservative approach to sticking with tried and tested technology, re-using existing modules that work (e.g. commonality in suspension parts)...

    Tesla Vision vs Parking Sensors

I agree that there was phantom braking with the radar and vision, but it was a superior system simply based on the fact that 1) it would keep working in heavy rain / low visibility conditions, 2) it wouldn't slam on the brakes if a pedestrian stood close to the kerb, and 3) you could use it with...

    Tesla Vision vs Parking Sensors

And here you are arguing with plenty of owners who had a pre 2022 with USS enabled where TACC worked relatively well, and here we are 2 years later and the development of Tesla Vision still hasn't restored TACC to the same level of capability as before. Owners don't forget that, and get reminded...

Replacing OEM 19' Hankooks on MY

I'm curious as to whether anybody has replaced the original Hankook 19" tyres on their Model Y RWD in Australia, and if so what did you go with? I drive this once a week, and as I get onto the Iron Cove bridge heading east I hit "End Trip" on the Nav to avoid TACC phantom braking. Putting aside the issue of the map update, I'm surprised that given the limitation GPS accuracy that it was deemed good enough to allow TACC to use it to...

Is there something wrong with MYLR?

Toyotas allow you to disable the adaptive cruise control and switching to plan cruise control by holding down the cruise control button. Their engineers had the foresight to anticipate situations (sensor not working / blocked) where their customers might want to go old school.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I'd be surprised if Tesla let the tech titans into the tent, why cede the UI particularly when the rumours of the Apple car persist? The car manufacturers only wish that they could have the kind of brand loyalty that people have to their phones.
