Do map updates come through as a notifcation on the app the same as software updates?I‘m getting a navigation update. That might explain what you are seeing

Will be interesting to see if we get speed camera alerts once we have the map update.
cool, will keep an eye out for it, was just out driving for the past hour or so and didn't see anything.Came through while I was in the car. Can’t remember what happened last time.
Yeah, I've done software updates, just never had a map update as yet, so wasn't sure how it happened.Map updates are loaded just like firmware updates: with a full reboot. If it's the only update it just happens quicker. They're usually wrapped up in firmware updates though.
My Tesla has never given speed camera warnings. I wish it did. My wife's Lexus has that as a standard feature...
the eqe nav lets you add your own POI’s using a usb. I added the $10 australian speed camera locations available from a 3rd party. I checked with the provider and they are unable to provide a POI file that interfaces with my ModelSMap updates are loaded just like firmware updates: with a full reboot. Better accuracy when allowing access to the car. I think it will only allow the car to unlock if the phone is moving. Better security as thieves can’t open it if your near and not moving phone. Also wakes car up less if your near.increase security by allowing access to motion and fitness data”.
Not likely. The thing to consider is that Android Auto and Apple Carplay are not features themselves, they are systems that allow access to other features. Other automakers ceded this to Apple/Google because the automakers don’t have the experience or resources to do so (including maintaining apps/software on an ongoing basis). The biggest feature Tesla introduce would be to support Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Will we see it? Free is good, but would you pay for it?
