Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I hope it's ok to post this here, but something like this - available in clear or black.
Acrylic adhesive pads
You get 100 for $4, so if one eventually pops off, you've got a few dozen backups. :)
Yeah, that was what I had planned to try as well after giving the stock version a try. These things can be found pretty cheap at craft stores or on Amazon.
I had hoped that maybe one of them would be a slightly raised 'bump', and the other a slightly 'indented' divot, to make them both...
The M3RWD I bought new last summer had 10 on it. Pretty sure of all the new cars I've bought of any make, I think 15 is the highest I've seen. Not sure about other people, but I'd be fine up to about 25... then I'd start to wonder... just how many pizza-runs DID they make with my car?
It definitely does stink to look forward to something and having a few days tacked on, but then just remember there are a good bunch of folks here who have to wait until July - or beyond! I bet any of them would be happy to trade with you! ;)
It definitely stinks that you did the Carmax thing...
Exactly the same here, and I live just north of you.
I am still of the mind that it will be July before we see regular black-interior deliveries. Hoping I am wrong, of course! :)
I can just imagine it now... Louise, the little old 'seat-lady' at the Fremont factory, sewing together white-leather seats as fast as she can... "Mr. Musk said white, so that's all yer gettin'!" :)
It's definitely frustrating, but gives an idea what some of the other M3 buyers have been...
Same - never been a fan of white or black, had a few gray cars, and a couple red - but blue has always been my fave.
The red this time around -almost- tempted me. They really did get it right. But still happy I ordered blue - though we are certainly in the minority, at least where this forum is...
If you could do that and report it here... based on how eager some here are to see such real-world numbers, I bet you'd become something of a superhero for a short while! :)
Interested to hear what you learn!
That guy on Top Gear, I think, mentioned this as 'missing' from the M3P review he did.
I kinda find it as a silly reason to 'ding' a review on a vehicle, but then again fake engine noise is important to some.
I do think it's interesting to think that in a decade or three, 'engine noise' could...
Dude... when I placed my order on the 23rd, that's exactly what I configured - and it came up over the limit for the US incentive by a hair. I about cried. Maybe I did it wrong? I don't know. But the exterior color was more important to me so I went with blue/black.
This has been my experience as well - MOST salespeople.
Occasionally I've had a really good one. I had a Kia salesrep once who I swore actually designed the car, but most salesreps I've had were pretty clueless. My one and only Tesla sales associate last summer was pretty awesome.
As the...
Ditto - I love the new 'Highland' style, front to back, inside and out. I -almost- pulled the trigger on a M3P early last year and am really glad I waited. :)
That's what I like about reading a variety of experiences from a wide range of people. The comments by this person are quite different than the comments by others. Ultimately for something this expensive, I wanna put my own butt in the driver's seat and find out for myself, but I greatly enjoy...
On that note... this may be a dumb question... but will mats/trunk liners/frunk liners from a '23 Model 3 fit properly in the '24 Model 3s? I've been curious about that, and was curious if anyone might know. My understanding is that the rear seats sit at a slightly higher angle, but I haven't...
You ex-military? That was our motto! :P
The waiting reminds me of being a kid at Christmas... except Dec 25 is Dec 25 - no changes in the date, but still with the anticipation. ;)
I've set my expectations pretty low - I told myself to -really- think about a July delivery. Anything before that...
When I bought my Model 3 last summer, Tesla's trade-offer beat out Carvana, Vroom, and Carmax, for me. Handily.
-Definitely- at least take the few minutes to get a quote at least. Perhaps Tesla -will- be the worst for your particular trade, but a few minutes -might- help avoid leaving $ on the...
I can definitely sense that here - if we had some more data, 0-60 tests,. 1/4 miles, top-end numbers, it would at least clear the air a bit.
Here's hoping we get that info sooner rather than later, even if it's just so we finally -know-. :)
I'm not exactly how the new vehicle is a 'huge let down'.
Nope, I don't have one yet, but from various reviews I've seen:
The car is quicker/faster than he previous version in just about every way (More power/torque/etc.)
The interior has been upgraded with better sound proofing
The suspension...
More convinced than ever that -every- color looks good on this one. :) I've never and probably would never buy a black or white car, but damn both of those (and the rest) just look awesome, in my opinion.
I stopped by the Tesla showroom this weekend and was just jibber-jabbing with the associate who greeted me, and the white-seats came up. He said there were still 'some delays' and expected M3P white-seat models to be slower to roll out than black, but that Tesla WAS working on it, so your...
I haven't seen an update since that original list came out.
What you could do, though, is have a look at the Tesla showroom listing:
https://www.tesla.com/findus/list
Find the few that are within acceptable distance of you, and give them a call. They can confirm if they have one yet, or might...
The Ultra-Red on this model is the first Red color I've liked since my '88 Pontiac Fiero. :) Just not a 'red' guy, but THIS red, for whatever reason, really made me think hard.
Eventually went with blue, but the red was a very, very close 2nd. I am 'kinda' glad that sexy quicksilver wasn't an...
There's also this thread where someone went to one of the showrooms where one of them is on display, for your viewing pleasure!

I am in the same area as you (just across the river), and mine also changed today to "5/21 - 6/18". I suppose ours could be on the same truck! :)
Blue/Black
Especially here in the US, if you're eligible for the tax credit, the P would be cheaper than the LR I think, and the only feature the LR has over the P is range, unless I am missing something.
I don't think it does - I think you can make use of the tax credit a set number of times (2 I believe?) each calendar year. I thought I read that last month.
I placed my order on announcement day, but was still thinking of making a trip up from Vancouver (the American one) to have a look, but your pics really helped keep my butt at home. :)
Thank you for sharing!
It could be a bit of both, of course. But to keep my hopes from being crushed, I am assuming that it will be delayed, and am hoping for a delivery by August sometime. :)
I'm ordering at MSRP + Tax credit and happy with it. I was expecting a much higher pricetag and no tax credit, tbh.
There's a chance there -might- be price-cuts... sometime. But as I wait and hope for those, my current trade will just keep depreciating, and those price-cuts aren't guaranteed...
When I traded in my Kia last summer, Tesla was the high offer over Carvana, Carmax, and Vroom. It absolutely shocked me because everyone had warned me that Tesla in particular is terrible. I thought for sure they'd 'adjust' the trade value before my purchase was settled, but it held.
So when I...
Yep, was super excited for blue/white, but BZZZZZZZZT, lose the credit. So blue/black it was for me. :) I don't mind black (my M3RWD has black inside), but the white just looks very, very nice to me.
Gotta say, I am not a 'red' car fan, but that new red is just amazing. Was a tough choice for me.
I honestly think the sub is definitely the way to go. You should be able to stop the sub anytime you want, and unless you keep the car ~6.5 years or more, you won't break-even if you buy FSD outright now (unless my math is off) vs. the sub.
Of course, I guess the sub could change price down...
Was very pleasantly surprised with the price, most of all. I was in the group of folks expecting ~$60k USD. Not only does it come in significantly cheaper than that, but it's also eligible for the tax credit for US buyers (if you do not change too many options), and in SOME states an additional...
The only thing I am cross-shopping with is a M3LR and Model Y. I have a M3 RWD now, and love it to death, but I am interesting in a bunch of the highland upgrades, as well as an increase in performance. So I am eager to compare the final '24 M3L (or whatever it will be referred to) compared to...
I wouldn't be surprised if this was true.
I thought (being a noob) that the 'boost' upgrade was just a software flag on the LR - you submit payment in the app, and BOOM, the change to your car happens OTA. If that is true - this is pretty much 'free money' for them? Maybe they don't sell enough...
If at the end of the day the new Performance model was the same as last year's with only the Highland changes, I'd be in line to buy one... UNLESS it's ridiculously priced. There are a lot of the Highland changes alone I am pretty excited about, and the stalkless design does not bother me at...
Have not yet had a single issue with my 23 M3RWD stalks - but have only had the car for about 8 months.
That said - I can take or leave stalks. While possibly a dealbreaker for some, it's certainly not a dealbreaker for me. Like most things, it will just take a bit of getting used to. :)
Total noob here - but curious for people much more knowledgeable - is it likely that the '24 M3P will use the same battery as the '23 M3P?
I believe the '23 M3P was still eligible for the tax incentive here in the States - so if it does use the same battery, would it mean that the '24 M3P would...
I like just about everything on the Highland better than the outgoing model - including losing the stalks - but $38k for a 2023 P?
What a dilemma to find yourself in!
I had a similar opportunity for a P (though a couple grand more) and it really was a tough choice. I decided I'll chance it...
I was very, very, very tempted to do the same, but the Highland updates are worth the extra cost to me. Now to hope that the new M3P will be out before the end of the year, and it doesn't have a price jacked-up above $55k! :)
Grats on a GREAT deal!!!
My purchase two months ago was the same: my co-worker gave me his code, I provided it when I ordered and received the $500 discount, and my referral buddy received their credit the same day I took delivery a few days later. No issues.
I think I set some sort of record for rashing one of my wheels - took a whole week after delivery to kiss a curb at a friend's house with my right-front wheel. I was so disappointed in myself.
I ended up picking up some wheel covers off Amazon that matched the aesthetic I liked. They do cover...
