Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

I believe Tesla uses all loopholes available in the laws to minimize power usage to get better mileage rating. For example, useful lights turn on only in underpassages and tunnels, and the DRLs are not really visible to oncoming traffic in broad daylight. I've been flashed at often many times...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

I thought the goal is for Russia to fall on its own sword when either the troops come back home to roost or there are no more troops left to maintain or wage war and the women of Russia take over.

Convince me after you have owned it for a couple of years. So far all Teslas are bleeding edge.

    Should I pull the trigger?

Sell your current car first as soon as possible before its value tanks. Then decide what you get for replacement from a more clear point of view.

Plaid Drag Racing - Not such a great night

    1) Sapphire might have better traction control. 2) Sapphire has burnout mode to warm the tires for better traction. It's not news that Tesla's traction control isn't the best.

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Plot thickens: Is this a way for Putin to pleed/whitewash insanity? Seems too convenient for all the war crimes that have transpired. If this was true they probably bought the media too, and heads will fall there soon, too. But it seems just too far fetched with all the initial dialog...

True, but maybe humanoid drones will just operate things like tanks, mobile launchers, etc. without the risk of loss of operating personnel.

Unless you have satisfactory aftermarket replacements for these, a couple of seconds is not worth tens of thousands of dollars if you don't have them in excess. BTW: There is nothing good in the new steering wheel with its haptic buttons, it might even be a showstopper. At least I am going to...

I hope the "free world" is taking notes. It would be embarrassing to be unprepared and say "we didn't know" when the next drone superpower(s) arise after this war.

    FSD now $8,000. Who's buying?

I don't see any value added on highway in comparison to autopilot (assuming autopilot will get as good as FSD when it is all single stack). And I doubt it is sufficiently mad max for my liking ;)

    FSD now $8,000. Who's buying?

It's simply not that valuable or average Joe, but if you'r into having a ride sharing business, that's a whole different ball game. If Tesla bots would take care of all the grunt work related to renting out a car, I might consider having a fleet, but only if it required zero of my time and...

    FSD now $8,000. Who's buying?

I have to admit I got mine in a mad Demo discount. Wouldn't pay anything for it, but it's nice to have in case it becomes useful and starts riding my kids to school without me in the vehicle. But I doubt that happening within the time I plan to keep the car (hopefully it's transferable to the...

You mean $77,990? And Plaid $92,990. It seems some serious deflation going on. Stock prices tanking. Prices tanking.

    Deliveries of $80k X?

In my previous car I blew (well... wore out) my own DSG transmission and it never felt the same after that, but I guess the more moving parts and power you have it's to be expected.

Who is waiting on the 2024 changes to order a Plaid?

They might leave more legroom to the rear.
  34. Tiger

    Deliveries of $80k X?

From the sound of it, seems all was good with the transmission you got, except the one month wait time (if they gave you a similar loaner for that time you would have been good?)?

Who is waiting on the 2024 changes to order a Plaid?

Why didnt you get the new Taycan instead? I can barely stomach an ICE car any more, I don't have the patience for the laggy throttle response/downshifting.

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

I finally understand why Audi and BMW drivers don't use blinkers. They must have these darn haptic on-steering-wheel-blinkers. I just don't bother anymore (/s), they work 70% of the time even if I try. I was about to propose swapping the blinkers for the left scroll wheel/button/joystick, but...

    Deliveries of $80k X?

I believe they are preparing for similar build process for S/X as the 2-series car (wouldn't make sense to build in a more inefficient way) and will eventually sell these in large volumes at lower cost. Should come out (deliveries) before the 2 so they can charge premiums for "sigature edition"...
