Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Indeed just being over by like $200 and losing a whole deal seems silly. For larger options makes sense but within a couple hundred bucks it hurts.
A follow up, so inventory cars that are marked down are also ineligible at this time ?
Sounds like the IRA price cap is based on the vehicle MSRP which does not include incentives. So that probably answer this question. That makes the yoke an $8K option which makes no sense. And I don't think relative is going to pull the trigger now unfortunately. Source: Invoice Price...
Family relative is looking to get his first Tesla, a new model X LR thanks to the recent price drop and eligibility for the IRA tax credit. The only option he wants is the $250 yolk steering. However, upon choosing that option, even with my $1000 referral discount the website says the order is...
Talk is cheap. Please post your 2022 IRS tax return ( with all the personal info redacted). I will review it and I know despite nothing illegal in your filing I will find unethical ones. Put up or …
FYI: Picked up the new car earlier today. Our initial mvpa had FSD (as initially instructed by Tesla). While waiting for the new car, Tesla changed their process. In fact our mpva was updated and FSD was removed by Tesla. Today, once we accepted the car - almost instantly - FSD was enabled in...
Selling my (beloved) Model 3 Performance taking advantage of FSD transfer. Had no intention or reason to sell otherwise. It has low miles at 38K. It’s a stealth model meaning it comes with 18” wheels but has the underline emblem. I have never tracked the car. It has HomeLink. I also have...
Is having a PowerWall+ or newer a requirement for this functionality. I am interested in this feature, but don't see it anywhere in the app or the cars. How does the system know a car is plugged in to the WallConnector?

Re the 2018 cars that qualify: we went in and did the FSD transfer today. The rep said he needed to check if my 2018 Model 3 qualified. I told him about the posts I had read and that their sales app was out of sync with the (real) service app. In my case the car was not purchased with FSD and...
I actually have the same exact question. I tried shoving the t-bolt in a bit and it didn't go far with the rubber in the groove. Most videos show installation without the rubber in place which begs the question of impact to aero dynamics and noise (whistling). From what I have seen recently...
Gotta love this thread... /s
Behold the common vagaries (and massive egos) of (senior) software developers knowing best. Yet know nothing about BUSINESS. Let's break it down to an easy one anyone can understand before asking for more color options on the UI (and shaking my fist in the sky!)...
I always wanted to start this thread were “non-Tesla Tesla” events are recorded. You know if Tesla was caught on fire, stock would be down 50 points and articles on cnbs abound. Or maybe if Tesla “drove” into the 7-Eleven because of AutoPilot - but really the driver mistook accelerator for...
Wow I am sorry to hear this. 😕 It’s not right if you have/had a signed purchase agreement. I would feel very slighted and that’s coming from a huge fanboy of theirs. Maybe tweet Elon. Some have had luck in getting “funny” practices reviewed and reversed by him.
Thesis: an administration comes into power that is not friendly to Tesla. They are heavily supported by unions and lots to lose if Tesla is truly successful and the big 3 go bankrupt on their watch. Think about the optics. The administration does however see the writing on the wall when it comes...
Yes I have not done an alignment since new. Riding on stock 18", different tires (Primacy OEM -> Cross Climate+), but same size. The old tires in general did wear evenly (with rotations every 6K), however the inside tread on the rear were more worn out than outside. Guessing 3/32 left on the...
Thank you for the referral. I just got new tires at 25K. Was thinking this is a good time to do an alignment. The car doesn't pull or anything, but I want to make sure the new tires wear properly. Any objections to doing the alignment? The (discount) tire guy wasn't that gung-ho about...
Well the new “choos” are on. So far my lifetime on the original primacy and my driving style over 3 years / 25K has been 243 Wh/mile. Shall see where we land with these in the next few years and 25K miles.
First ride home impression - I can’t tell a difference in noise or handling. Maybe a...
Not sure about your project but with our solar roof + power wall the contract was half on material delivery and half on successful inspection. And that’s pretty much when the invoices arrived. So they are triggered automatically as I mentioned earlier.
There is/was no project advisor as such...
I am in the same boat. There are some minor repairs (chimney façade) that the specialist needs to come and finish. I received the 2nd half / final invoice as soon as inspection passed however. That's the default trigger I suspect. Anyhow, I chose to pay almost all of the 2nd invoice except...
We just completed our install - see My Solar Roof Journey. Initially Tesla was planning to put the PWs outside next to my electricity panel. On PW install day I was told by the electrician about the Powerwall needing to be 3 feet away from the gas line. I wanted the PWs installed in the garage...
It’s a new dawn...it’s a new life ...
In conclusion for anyone else going through this process I have one overarching take away. The dates your given to work with are not “UPS delivery” dates. They are the construction variety kind. Meaning they can be off by 4-7 days. If you have that...
Update: honestly, I did not set it up this way, but I just got PTO from SDGE. The initial email for the application and 15 min later the approval. One for panels and one for power walls. So... I just turned my system on! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year all.
Update: Within a few days (12/10) got notified by Tesla to upload my my latest electric bill. I did so on 12/11 and now the Tesla account shows the following:
So going based on this I am interpreting they have applied for PTO with SDGE. Not sure if there is a way to check the status of that...
First of all congratulations This is a very exciting time. There is not a whole bunch of “setup” but here is list I can suggest. Certainly the car has a lot of settings and this is not meant to be comprehensive.
Name and reset one of your trip meters as Lifetime before you drive away. And...
Well it's almost a year later when OP started this thread, and I just got the letter of intention to suspend today. I switched back in October 2020. So whatever process they have at Tesla it's not quite worked out. On the DMV site, the insurance inquiry does say that I need to submit proof...
Update: Electricians came back today for their day 2. We got a bit delayed because we hit Thanksgiving holidays and they wanted to come back the Friday after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately we were going out of town so it got pushed back a week until today when their schedule could accommodate...
Hmmm not sure why the diff. In our case the large panel you see is brand new. They had the power off the whole time rewiring / moving fuses to the new panel. I was told our old panel (outside) would only keep non-backup circuits and any circuits that are backed up are in the new panel.
Today the Powerwall electricians arrived (with the 2 units in tow). We were without power for about 7 hours. They will come back for day 2 to finish and test.
Thank you for the kind words. I am very happy with how the aesthetics turned out as well. It's always a bit of a gamble doing things sight unseen, but I am delighted with the outcome.
Couldn't disagree more. I for one love the interface and nothing is "wonky". But each to his own. You like Sync I am guessing. A few dozen other people as well. So there is that I suppose. However I - and most others - know Tesla's software UX and integration is bar none. No car...
Hopefully I won't come off too harsh. Apologies in advance if so. Here is how I will put the fork in front of you: Do you want a computer with wheels or a car that is electric? It's a subtle distinction with far ranging ramifications. Tesla is a Silicon Valley based company. They breath...
Update day 7: The roof is finished. 99.9% anyway. Our chimney has stone façade that earlier they had removed some lower portions to install "crickets" (?). Apparently a specialist person Tesla has on hand has to come and put the stones back on. A small crew of 3 showed up today to finish the...
