    Dent repair Sydney

Thought I'd share a positive story at how this turned out.... Tesla Body Repairs in Alexandra did the work. They did a perfect job, kept me regularly updated with progress through the app, finished it on the day they said they would, provided Uber vouchers for drop off and pick up, and best of...

    Dent repair Sydney

All I know is I've not made any insurance claim of any kind in over 15 years, nor had any traffic infringement in even longer, and my premium started around $2,000 when I got the Model X P100D (new in 2017) but by June 2023 NRMA wanted $5,000. So I switched to Allianz with a $2,600 excess and a...

    Dent repair Sydney

Unfortunately I've heard back from several PDR places and they all say it's too severe. So I really need a body shop that can do it, preferably for a cash price given I don't need an insurance claim.

    Dent repair Sydney

I have a 10 cm dent on the bottom of a Model X boot (photo below). Tesla's body shop quoted $6,757 to repair it (some $4,811 for labour). I'm hesitant to make an insurance claim given premiums have been doubling each year and it's a $2,000 excess. Can anyone suggest a reasonable Sydney-based...

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

Like many others, we love our Model X (P100D, 7 seat) and would like to replace it given it's getting on in years. What is the best alternative in the Australian market these days? I looked at the EX90 and Polstar 3 but neither really appeal when you're used to a Model X. What are other Model X...

Carsales Extended Warranty: $4000+ Tesla Repair

I have a 2017 Model X P100D that is out of its 4 year warranty next month (20,000 KM, NRMA insured). I asked Tesla last year about a warranty extension and they pointed me at Marsh. Marsh gave a $4,000 quote which I decided to leave given warranty remained until June 2021. Can someone please...

Insurance. It is that time of the year again.

My market value Model X P100D renewal came in from NRMA. Despite using market value and a significant reduction in market value (another year + Tesla's pricing being in free fall): For a renewal with "any repairer" enabled - like it was last year - it's 23% higher: $3,630 For a renewal with...

How much do you charge from solar in Australia?

Roughly 0% for us. We have a 16.4 kW solar system with 2 x 16 kWh Sonnen batteries. The batteries capture most surplus solar production, especially at this time of year: I have also written software ("Energy Genie") which forecasts tomorrow's solar production (using Solcast — data and...

    Sentry Mode in Australia?

I paid for FSD at time of purchase, but I honestly doubt they'll deliver FSD before the car is retired. Telsa would get a ton of goodwill by making sentry available for HW2 customers who are already going to get a HW3 computer anyway. Speaking from experience when my Tesla was recently keyed...

    Sentry Mode in Australia?

Model X P100D built June 2017. I guess it's HW2 based on that build date.

    Sentry Mode in Australia?

I also received 2019.8.3 with dog mode, but there's no sentry mode unfortunately.

    Spotify on version 9

One of the points repeatedly made to me before purchase was Tesla provides over-the-air (OTA) updates. I bought the car expecting it to get better. As a result I am frustrated that Tesla make the vehicles in the USA and more recently sold in Australia better, but they won't make my car better...

    Spotify on version 9

They told me in January it would be fixed in the next release, then in February still not working, and in March I emailed them again and they did not even bother to reply. Between months of no Spotify, extremely large price drops, over-priced accredited repairs, lack of Sentry Mode and still no...

    Sentry Mode in Australia?

Has anyone in Australia got Sentry Mode yet? I'm wondering if my Model X is too old (built June 2017, but I did pay for full self drive and I recall reading somewhere the required hardware upgrade is free for those who paid for this). Anyone have any details?

Sydney body shop to repair scratch following keying

Be interested to hear how you go. My electrician took a look at the Model X this morning in full light and couldn't find the paint blending, even when I showed him precisely where they did the work. I'm very happy with how well they did.

Sydney body shop to repair scratch following keying

They're a fully-accredited panel beater / body shop and most of their work is from the insurance companies, so they are technically able to do any kind of body repair work. Having said that, I'd personally draw the line if it requires aluminum welding. If it's that serious, you're in insurance...

Sydney body shop to repair scratch following keying

Thanks to everyone for their replies. For the benefit of Sydney owners who find this thread, I got the Model X fixed at Quest Collision Centre in Asquith. The contact there was Ash. They did it for $1,000 cash. It took 7 calendar days and I am very happy with the result (you cannot see any...

    AU Pricing

No, the drive away cost. I just checked the invoice and it was $331,203.30 including a $1,540 referral credit. When I said $334K I had included $3,765.00 for a 4 year service plan. So the total paid before delivery was $334,968.30. I subsequently bought lock nuts and some boot liners too. :-)

    AU Pricing

Our fully-optioned Model X P100D was purchased in June 2017 for $334K. A new equivalent today is $208K. Sure it's $126K less, but most people buy Teslas as a means of transport favored for individual reasons (such as enjoyment, performance, features, environment etc), as opposed to thinking of...

Sydney body shop to repair scratch following keying

The footage is from front and rear Blackvue cameras. It covers a 4 hour period from the hand washing of the car that morning (by multiple people) when the scratch was not present, to the visit to the pool, to subsequent discovery of the damage (by multiple people). So we have uninterrupted proof...

Sydney body shop to repair scratch following keying

I'm reluctant to write the license plate, but he's easy to avoid. Based on a few visits to the pool since, he parks in the disabled spots (he has a sticker), drives a grey VW, and it has a dent behind the front passenger wheel. It's pretty rare to get one of the great spots near the entrance...

Sydney body shop to repair scratch following keying

Hi folks My Model X P100D passenger door was keyed on 24 February. It was parked legally and correctly (well within lines) at Ku-ring-gai Fitness & Aquatic Centre, but a Volkswagon driver parked in the disabled spot beside us (whom I've never seen before) simply came over keyed it before...

    Insurance

Given that others are also encountering major premium and excess increases in their InsureMyTesla Model X renewals, I thought I'd share what I found when looking for cover similar to the InsureMyTesla renewal (ie market value, 14 day hire car, excess-free windscreen, $1500 excess). Our...

Recommended Sydney Installers for Dash Cam

Thanks for the tip. I had a dual channel Blackvue installed yesterday by MC Car Security – Car Security Specialist. It took them four hours and the results are perfect. It was the sixth Model X they have installed, so they've got experience and I highly recommend them.

Recommended Sydney Installers for Dash Cam

Anyone able to recommend a dash cam installer in Sydney for a Model X? I see the Blackvue DR650GW-2CH is pretty popular, and after watching US videos could probably self-install, but I'd prefer to pay someone to do it professionally so the cables get cleanly embedded in the windshield trunking...
