    Superchargers in Australia

In the States Tesla is building restaurants etc with the charging arrays. In the UK Gridserve is doing likewise with lounges and food.

    Superchargers in Australia

It's potentially good news about BP.. Gas stations always have toilets - of variable usability, sure - and food/drink facilities also tyre pumps etc. It makes sense for gas stations to expand into charging points given that petrol will hopefully not be needed so much over the next few years...

2013 12v battery in one word

I'm the same as you - always done everything that's at all doable. But mobile service isn't for everyone - here in Australia it doesn't exist outside the one or two major cities and I don't even know about them.

    Supercharger - Taree, NSW

I'd like to see the first hand reports first: the internet has many attributes but spreading misinformation is one of them! Having said that, it's been obvious for years that he's a nutter and this should not surprise us.

It certainly didn't let me know today! BTW, what's the "CCS update"?

    Supercharger - Raymond Terrace, NSW

I went to the Raymond Terrace supercharger site today and charged up. Twelve stalls undercover with solar on the roofs. All Vxxx - which means that anyone with an S or X can't use them without an adapter! Fortunately I was given an adapter with my car so was able to use the charger but when...

    Supercharger - Raymond Terrace, NSW

It all seems to be a big secret yet obviously has been planned and sourced for some time so why?

    Supercharger - Raymond Terrace, NSW

I am going for an MRI scan tomorrow 21st at E Maitland and instead of charging at Heatherbrae will look at the RT site. I just happened to see it marked on the ABRP site today - I thought there were going to be 12 stalls somewhere just down the road from the H'Brae chargers?

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

I'm just the same with my left arm - in a RHD country. I have always been very right handed but a stroke 18m ago has accentuated the difficulties. Touch screen use is quite iffy - hitting the correct place even when stationary is problematic - and not helped by the fact that it seems that the...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

My car will probably last me out but if not I will buy an EV but not a Tesla which has no stalks etc. I don't live in the States so have to indicate during opposite turns frequently and being right-handed find the touchscreen very difficult.

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

I have no idea what the various versions do or what capability they have - the update numbering system is opaque. Mostly the rel notes just say "Minor bug fixes" or something about video games. Having spent a lifetime in aviation it's disturbing to have such a complex system in the wild but with...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

Here in Australia my MS is at 2024.4.8.7 so obviously there must be some unit working at least on RHD with the NSW Australian road rules. Given that so-called "FSD" is unlikely to be autonomous, only level 3 or thereabouts - ie. a "driver aid" - I can't see how Tesla can shy away from delivering...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

And for the RHD cars? Are there separate teams dealing with the dozens of different countries' road laws, quite apart from the driving seat position?

    Regen braking MS

Does anyone have the real figures on how much electricity is actually recovered during regen? I've seen 80% of the kinetic energy but I've also seen 50%! And on the same subject, do the continual spurts of regen electricity impinge on the battery longevity - or is that something no-one has...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I think it's deliberately misleading. Obviously, speed is the biggest factor in deaths/injuries in accidents when they happen. Whether speed CAUSES more accidents in the list of causes is entirely different but I think the authorities like to make it a primary cause, which it isn't.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

No, I'm really confused. The FSD beta that's being run in the States is on numerous YouTube videos. My S came up with 2023.44.30.6 a day or two ago with the Navigate on autopilot (beta) Yes/No button which I've just realised isn't FSD. You'll have to excuse me - I had my 81st birthday yesterday...

What is 12v battery replacement cost

This is one of those things that's neither right nor wrong - until your decision goes belly up! My S is nearly four years old and in view of the fact that I'm 150m away from the only viable SC and they don't do roving services here and since I spent Xmas with family only a few miles from the SC...

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

Tesla opening up the Supercharger network in Australia to other brand EVs.

Tesla opening up the Supercharger network in Australia to other brand EVs.

I've seen several other type issues at Heatherbrae. yesterday with most of the 6 units full an "other make" - IIRC a mini? attempted to make it but the car socket was the wrong side and the cable too short. The owner was apparently unable to make it to destination. They said they had the Tesla...

    Model S 12v battery

My S is 3 1/2 years old and I live North of Newcastle so fitting a replacement 12v battery would be problematic. Anyone know of the supply situation from the Sydney SCs? I'll be going down for a few days over Christmas and am wondering if it's worth doing a preemptive replacement on the...

M3 Refresh - Are Indicator buttons really poor design?

Tip - Cancel indicators by indicating “again”

All I do know about the blinker stuffup on the S with FSD (yes, I know....) is that the passenger seat is pretty damp most days. SWMBO forbids me to plug in the autopilot because of (a) continuing - and getting worse - phantom brakings and (b) the sudden lunge when it changes lanes. Then there's...

M3 Refresh - Are Indicator buttons really poor design?

It's a truly awful design and indicative of the minimalist-regardless-of-ergonomics mindset. I've been banging on about it on other forums since the refresh before last but it falls on deaf American ears. As you say, the unfortunate fact that many people don't indicate correctly especially on...
