Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

Not sure if this has been suggested. Why couldn't they put signals as buttons attached to the back of the steering wheel (left button left signal, right side right signal) where many have volume/paddles (still save money on parts as its on the steering wheel). Then move the gear selection to...

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

My Model 3 is 5.5 years old. Is the higher rating recently the BMS not being calibrated ? Any reason why it is increasing in range? When I bought the car it was rated 499km, then it was revised to 510km with software. I've never been close to the rated range and usually hovered 460 to 480 km.

No Park Assist in 2018 M3 Holiday Update

I haven't seen the red yet , but I agree instant is always better and a combo would be best. Bummer about the visualization but I guess having USS is still the best so again not a big loss there.

No Park Assist in 2018 M3 Holiday Update

My blind spot detection does not seem to turn red, has yours worked? 2018 Model3 here. 2023.44.30.5.1. Does it only turn red on the highway?

Power Trunk Retrofit on Model 3s now Available Direct from Tesla [09.14.2023 - 2018 model 3 not eligible]

I'm sure there's a lot more uglier things in trunks than that button lol. Small price to pay for perfect integration and functionality. :). The cost is right too.

Power Trunk Retrofit on Model 3s now Available Direct from Tesla [09.14.2023 - 2018 model 3 not eligible]

I have to agree with this, the 3 is not a hatchback style. Usually, a hatchback/fastback would include the entire rear glass which would also be a part of the trunk storage space. The 3's trunk does not open with the rear glass and the rear glass is not a part of the trunk storage space.

Power Trunk Retrofit on Model 3s now Available Direct from Tesla [09.14.2023 - 2018 model 3 not eligible]

Scheduled for Thursday, excited. This was the only feature on the new cars that I really wished my car had. Hopefully they have everything ready.

New Tesla/EV owner and first-time FSD beta user - is this a joke?

No it has nothing to do with you, it is FSD being nowhere close to a beta. I cannot use it for over a minute without shutting it off. I turned it on the other day to see if there was any progress, and in 30 seconds my car decided to go into the oncoming lane in a residential street to make a...

    Smart summon accident and liability

Sometimes for costs under 3000 in damage its better to skip the claim as your premiums will make sure you pay for it an more. This is why so many people don't want to go through insurance for fender benders.

    Smart summon accident and liability

I feel for you, I've had nothing but problems with any of the FSD features including Smart Summon. I can't even keep FSD on for more than a minute without it doing something that makes me cancel and take over.

Revisiting the Indicator light needed for Autonomous driving! We need an external light!

I would like to think this is a fad with anything new imho. Once all are at level 5 and it's mainstream this won't happen as often. As people here responded we can turn it off, we are still in the driver's seat and it is only level 4 at best. I know we don't want to stand out, I can see this...

Revisiting the Indicator light needed for Autonomous driving! We need an external light!

So happy to see so many close mindedness responses instead of a great discussion. Disappointed, expected better. It is a good point about other drivers making you a target or even pedestrians trying things out. Although I believe it's more a new fad and at level 4 you will still be behind the...

Revisiting the Indicator light needed for Autonomous driving! We need an external light!

Exactly, similar to my previous statement. At level 5 it would not be needed and also when it's more widespread. At this beta incomplete level 3-4 ish there is a benefit to having it. In 50 years probably Quite a bit different those things.

Revisiting the Indicator light needed for Autonomous driving! We need an external light!

Again you guys are missing the point. Read the entire response please. You can't rip a bumper sticker off when not in use. This is entirely different.

Revisiting the Indicator light needed for Autonomous driving! We need an external light!

I'm not saying you are transferring liability, I am also not saying it's more dangerous. I don't think I'm getting the point across. When it is activated you are NOT in control. Yes you can intervene but you are not making the decisions. Other drivers and pedestrians should know this as they...

Revisiting the Indicator light needed for Autonomous driving! We need an external light!

I don't think we need a light for that , I'm already taking the abuse for the cars decisions. The sticker is not the same obviously.
  18. A

Revisiting the Indicator light needed for Autonomous driving! We need an external light!

Yes, I understand we are ultimately in control. It's about communication, and that is what this accomplishes. This is why brake lights, reverse and signals were invented. We also need to communicate when we have it engaged or not because at that specific moment we are not in control of the...

Revisiting the Indicator light needed for Autonomous driving! We need an external light!

Level 4 and above need the light on. Why would we add a light when all vehicles are autonomous, it would be useless. The point of the light is to communicate that the car is currently making the decisions not the person in the seat.

Revisiting the Indicator light needed for Autonomous driving! We need an external light!

I posted this a long while back and was ridiculed, but I'm going to double down on this. With all the phantom breaking and bad autopilot decisions I still think it is imperative to have a light indicating the driver is not controlling the vehicle. Yes, Yes I understand that autonomous...

    FSD Beta 10.69

No worries. I know its not going to be perfect in the snow, most of the street was plowed it was just one small area of snow that was blown over. I thought it could handle a little bit of snow here. I was right on top of it and anticipated it as it went. I just thought it could handle small...

    FSD Beta 10.69

First time using FSD Beta. It does not seem to take into account snow on the road or the conditions of the road. It lost control taking a right turn into a residential street too fast and then freaked out and told me to take control lol. I tried it again coming home to a different residential...

Tesla Waze no longer works in browser

Wow I didn't know about Teslaa app , this things works so well. I now have Android Auto running in the browser and it enables playlists, a GUI for YouTube music, google assistant, messages from apps such as WhatsApp. Amazing, this is why we need AA and CarPlay in a Tesla, it already feels so...

Tesla UI vs Apple CarPlay vs Android Auto

Carplay and Android auto would be amazing. Currently I have to use my phone to use Waze and I can't access YouTube music (through Bluetooth but can't access play lists etc.) It's an absolute pain. I can live with the Tesla software but its not even close to android auto and apple carplay in...

2017-2020 Model 3 recalled for trunk/rear camera issue

late 2018 model 3. Definitely experiencing issues with Trunk. The remote trunk latch failed and I could not open the trunk/boot. I got the harness replaced in December although my rear camera still has some noise. Will book an appt when available.

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

I was going to mention the changing map orientation, it got me frustrated because it gets hidden once the directions begin. Tire pressure and trip stuff as well. I think they have to rethink where to display this information as covering the entire map is not the best place for it.

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

Thanks , noticed it yesterday as well which again begs the question why have two places to do the same thing. I do prefer the top location by memory and ease of reach but now it taunts me because it's there and I can't use it. Has anyone figured out how to hit the radio or Bluetooth button...

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but: Reversing out of my driveway, if I attempt to close the garage with the shortcut at the top, it completely loads the full screen menu and blocks the rear camera! Did anyone at Tesla even use the new GUI? This reeks of quickly throwing something in without...

Really Frustrated with Auto High Beams

I agree Tesla has 3 major items to work on: Auto high beams - never would use it unless it is 99% accurate which means I don't use any auto high beams from any car. Wipers - good 80% of the time. Easy to override. Autopilot- still has a long way to go, far too many errors when driving so I can't...

    2021.32.x

I noticed when I first tried the immersive audio I only had off - low - standard (3 settings) and then randomly it changed to off - standard and high (5 settings). I have model 3 long range RWD. I think its a bug, you might have to reboot or enter the settings screen a couple more times to...

    Premium Connectivity in Canada

Data is much cheaper in bulk and really does not cost a carrier much more, it's all markup in the end. I have 8gb of data on my plan for 45 dollars. I'd really like to use this instead of paying an extra 15 dollars for a few GB a month tied exclusively to a car I'm not even driving now :)
  35. A

    Premium Connectivity in Canada

We all have to not subscribe so Tesla lowers the price. Unfortunately like most people, I don't see more than a $50 a year value for premium connectivity. Who actually watches movies? So 14 dollars a month is for satellite view and inferior music streaming. I'd like a way to leverage your...

    2021.4.11 downloading

Will Tesla remove FSD from used inventory?

This is a simple business move for more profit. The hardware is there and you can add 5k to a used vehicle in a blink of the eye . Why would you not add it to all inventory as added value for used cars . Makes the resale market very profitable for them. Also don't believe Tesla that FSD will...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

With covid and the cold weather my estimate for a LR RWD is only 408km (253 miles) from the 523km it was increased to in one of the updates. I think as others have pointed out it must be an estimation error.

    2020.48.x

I don't think it was a good idea to make the visualizations bigger at this time since you don't really make use of them. I think the size should be dynamic. Put in a destination without autopilot and the map enlarges. Turn on autopilot and the visualizations expand larger etc. No Autopilot...

    Winter Tires on Model 3

RWD is great in snow, no worries with snow tires. It's better than FWD to get moving and turning. If you have driven FWD, this is superior.
