Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Yep, the seats themselves are easy to clean, it's the white fabric on the sides of them that becomes horrifically dirty and almost impossible to clean.
I owned a fully loaded X3M Comp and while some areas might be subjective, the sound system in my MYP destroys the premium HK in the X3M. It is by far the best stock sound system in any car made right now.
To each their own, but I had a 24 hour test drive of the iX and HATED it, and this is coming from a BMW brand loyalist. The styling is horrendously overdone inside and out. I was hoping the grill/frontend would grow on me, but it is horrific, like generationally horrific. The other crazy...
Is it just me or does it feel like Elon's quote is being taken out of context a bit? Everyone is looking at it as confirmation, but he clearly said that they have had issues implementing it.
I mean, they could make it faster today if they wanted to. Most speculate that the battery is still only around 70-80% of its realized potential. Not to mention adding track mode.
I've hit 11.8 in my MYP multiple times. The fact that a "professional" driver only hit 12.3 here is sketchy. Seems like a rigged comparison.
That said... this is another example of why we need track mode. Ridiculous that a Genesis of all cars gets it and we don't.
Um yeah, take that offer. Here was the offer I got for my MYP with 700 miles on it:
FOR SELLING
2022 Tesla Model Y Performance 4D SUV
700 miles
ESTIMATED VALUE $58,300
IDENTICAL issue on my wife's Model Y. I've steamed the hell out of them and still dirty. Don't want to go too abrasive as to damage the fabric but maybe a magic eraser?
Lol, I wasn't referencing you in regards to the imbecile comment. I meant the people that view cars as appreciating assets. That said... Model S and X notwithstanding, the 3 and Y have both been at the top of their class for resale for years now. In fact I think the Y has led that category...
Forget about appreciating assets, that’s just painting with a broad and frankly imbecilic stroke.
I think the thing(s) to be concerned about right now are 1) the fact that this correction is impacting Tesla significantly more than other brands (i.e. Honda/Toyota have barely been affected)...
Carmax just offered me 58k for my essentially brand new MYP. I'm not looking to flip for a profit by any means, but one of the main reasons I bought a Tesla was for the resale and knowing that I could "escape" from the car relatively easily if I wanted to.
And I locked mine in two price...
Offer Date: 9/15
Company: Carvana and Vroom
Region: North East US
Year/Color/Model: 2022 black MYP
Mileage: 1100
Offer: $58,500 from Carvana 59,900 from Vroom
Agreed. The number I've heard most is that the 2170s are at about 80% of their potential. So that would probably leave us with about 10% to be unlocked since I doubt they'd want to go full bore.
Funniest part of this thread are the people arguing that the MYP doesn't need to be fast or have better performance because it will be "dangerous". You realize how stupid that sounds when we are literally talking about the Performance variant of the car, right?
Definitely some odd ducks on...
So is it fair to say that the 2170 is tapped out at this point? It may be naive, but I find it hard to believe that Tesla would see competitors like this and just sit quietly.
Bordering on ridiculous now that the MYP doesn't have some sort of track mode. EV6 GT is getting it out of the box and will probably blow the doors off the MYP. Such a missed opportunity....

That is ridiculous logic and shows an innate misunderstanfing of how market logistics and demand paradigms work hand in hand. Toyota and Honda have sold more Camry's and Accords than any other cars in the world, does that mean that the prices have dropped every year? Quite the contrary, as...
naivete is a hell of a thing... maybe they de-content some models or release an alternative base model, but to think that anything existing will drop in price is comical. Go look at the Accord and tell me when a new model was cheaper than the outgoing one. I'll wait
Eurospec cars having different features/options than their American counterparts isn't endemic to Tesla. This has been going on in the BMW world for decades, different markets demand different things.
My understanding is that the parcel shelf will be an optional retrofit that can be bought and installed, similar to the garage opener. I was told we should see it this month or next at latest.
Tested plenty of them and yes, all garbage. Talk to me in 6 months and let me know how it’s working. You get what you pay for.
I’ve owned cars that are well beyond the MYPs price point and would never again let the Amazon junk touch it. To each their own though. If you like it, that’s...
I for one, welcome the Austin LRs. Less people switching to the MYP now, which for me is a good thing.
Every report/indication (from Musk himself even) is that they will be identical 2170 non structural packs, so no harm no foul.
The Amazon stuff is garbage, so there’s that. But yes, if you can get your hands on a good product and have cover available for curing then it is absolutely doable yourself.
All of these people pining for the full casting are going to be bummed when their car is deemed a total loss after a minor fender bender…. Can’t wait for those posts. Lol
If they are really building MYPs out of Austin days after I took delivery of my Fremont car, I’m going to be livid, lol. I waited a year for an Austin car and finally pulled the trigger.
This. If you care about the appearance and/or ease of exterior maintenance, then ceramic/PPF are no brainers. That said, it is not a necessity and I certainly wouldn't splurge for it if it is stretching the budget.
