Hey guys,
On a whim I decided to go ahead and get veteran plates for my Tesla MYP and Chevy Bolt... doing so saved me $400!!!
In Arkansas we have to pay an extra $200 each year to register an electric vehicle, since we are "getting away with" not paying around $80 in gas tax each year (based on 10,000 miles and 30 mpg)... sounds fair doesn't it? But I found out when I changed over to veteran plates that this extra registration fee is waived if you have veteran plates. It is NOT waived just because you are a veteran, you have to get veteran plates for it to be waived. Anyway, having 2 EV's in the household this saves me $400 a year.
