EV Hostility?

I am in Wisconsin too and while some folks are skeptical of the practicality none have been hostile. Suspect those who feel they are the "victim" of hostility always feel the victim for some reason or another.

A co-worker building a diesel truck for exhibit at SEMA was one of the first to ask for a ride along.

I think I’ve seen more “hostility” based on the price of the car than the fact it’s a EV.

I’ve had people with sarcastic/jealous undertones say something like “how did YOU get this car?” or immediately start asking “so what do you do?” instead of asking about the car.

Not everyone of course. Majority people go straight in asking about the car are excited to see it. If someone asks I always take em for a spin. Some go straight into asking about personal details which is weird.
