External RFID transmitter not working on Model X

I just received an external RFID for my community complex auto gate entry. The provided told me to mount it on the left headlight externally, but said it might not work as some Tesla owners are having challenges. The reader is between 1' and 3' from the ground.

Do you have a picture or a model number of the RFID tag?

Normally how those work, is they get excited/energized by the radio waves of the transmitter installed on the parking equipment.

If there’s a bunch of metal near your tag, that RF gets absorbed or distorted by the metal.

I have an RFID tag mounted to my windshield to identify my vehicle for unlimited car washes. But their reader is 4' from the ground. No issues.
