Reminds me of an old joke...

What's the difference between a car salesman and a computer salesman? The car salesman knows when he's lying.

That joke doesn't hold up for EV's now. Maybe because an EV is a merge of computer and a car...

... but I think the correct version is ...

What's the difference between a car salesman and a computer salesman? The car salesman knows when he's not telling the truth.

Lying involves conscious deception. Telling something other than the truth covers a much larger range.
