It is isn’t it. You can’t imagine BMW giving service instructions out. That would be a £200 job for the service centre.

Now if they’d do one on brake fluid replacement and calliper cleaning, we’d have all servicing requirements boxed off.

You'll need Torx T-20.

I bought the filters, then noticed that on one of the YouTube videos, so the process had to wait until the extra tools arrived.

A T20 is least of our worries on RHD cars. Steering wheel and foot rest getting in the way adds to the job, not covered in the DIY guide.

Just replaced the filters on my Model 3.
Its pretty simple if you follow the instructions from Tesla.
I did find a youtube video but I stopped watching after the guy started complaining about Tesla using a T20 instead of a flat blade bolt. Anyone with that level of mechanical understanding doesn't need to be doing a DIY video!

Overall I'll probably never do it again. The filter is really tucked up under the dash and needs lots of wriggling around.
For the amount of time it took I'd rather pay Tesla Mobile Service to come do it for me next time

When it starts to smell which seems to occur from 6 months to a couple of years.

Next time you do it, it will be a lot quicker. The first time is always the hardest with that type of job.

Has anyone used the Torque Alliance hepa filters? Are they better than the stock Tesla filters?

In winter wouldn't you want the seat heaters to be already on before you get into the car, if you decided to turn them on?

That being said, I can see no reason why they ought to be on with no one in the seat above a certain ambient temperature, but perhaps stopping people from doing that might irk some people? There has to be some people out there that use the seat heaters pretty much all the time.
