On another forum, one of the more eloquent and vocal members said that our beloved car is based upon the 1996 EV-1. Nothing new under the sun save a larger battery. And it was not that green at all!

Them's fighting words! Anyway, this individual is a well-respected trial lawyer, so I want to direct him to the best unbiased information to rebut his baseless statements. All replies are thankfully appreciated.

Well, the battery chemistry (lead-acid and then NiMH) and design (large cells) are completely different. The EV-1 was a two door, two seat car, with a range of about 40 miles. 0-60 in 8 seconds! Top speed 80mph!

To be fair, they both have four wheels...
